Hanging In There Through Covid: THANK YOU!

I just wanted to take a quick moment aside to say THANK YOU for the concern and the support through my Covid journey. I don't take that lightly. It actually does mean something to me.
I mean, come on. You don't think that I know some folks around these parts might consider me to be the Jerk of Mylot?
I am bold, upfront, confrontational and controversial. I am a takes no prisoners attitude. I leave few stones unturned. I don't mind at all laying everything on the line and don't care much for hurt feelings—even if my aim is to never hurt feelings, but just to be honest.
I tell it like it is, love it or hate it and friendships be damned.
But of course I actually do care about each and every one of you. Even in the most dreadful, most heated moments—I still care about you.
We are like a family here sometimes. And even the most loving families will get into some pretty knock-down, drag-down spats. But it changes nothing about who we are at the end of the day. It changes not a single feeling.
And beyond that, it's kind of my schtick, you know. I have probably never said it. But it is part of my brand. That's just what I do, just like other guys go out and do things that are a bit in your face and out there.
Many folks have made quite a living out of being a guy like that. I am still waiting for the big payday to arrive, but nonetheless...
I like to stir the pot a little bit and get some panties in a bit of a bunch. It's my channel. My theme. My thing. When you come here to my posts and when you see me on yours, you know what to expect just as much as you know what to expect if you order a Big Mac in New York or Anchorage, Alaska.
It's a Porwest.
And it's why all of the comments and well wishes and get wells mean so much to me on a post like, "I Have Covid." Because despite all I do, and all those I can sometimes really pile it hard on...
You are still here.
And I appreciate every bit of it. As for this Covid thing, I look forward to being back to my onery, cantankerous, foul, begrudging, finger pointing, fist waving, table pounding, loudmouth blowhard son of a b*tch self just as soon as I can.
Onward and upward and again...
See you on the other side dear friends.
You are all a great lot, MyLot, and I am happy to be allowed to be a part of your daily WTF.

One of the things I have always noticed about you on your divisive or controversial topics is that you never attack the person in your comments, just the subject matter at hand. I’ve seen you and Jill in New Jersey get into some pretty heated arguments yet still remain friends at the end of the day. That’s admirable. And that’s what I love about our myLot family.

I wouldn't wish covid on anyone, not even on any jerks on myLot . Awww, you're not that bad, really - unless you're claiming the crown on that (crown, in Spanish, is "corona" by the way ). You just be you - we wouldn't have it any other way. I do hope you're feeling loads better today - especially since today is Monday .

I guess at the end of the day being a jerk is something I wear proudly like a crown? Hmm. Maybe I should get a shirt or something. lol.
But I am glad to be me and I am happy when people can accept me for being just that as I do with other people. Just accept them for who they are.
Onward and upward.

We’re your buddies in spite of your attitude and your big mouth. What would Mylot be without porwest? It would be a duller place that’s for sure. Hang in there and don’t get too humble. You’ll ruin your reputation and you don’t want that.

I wasn't aware you were ill. Must've missed that post. However, I do hope you feel better soon. And, yes I do believe that you need to be you and do what is best for you.

I'm sure this wasn't your intention, but your post really touched me. You're not nearly as ornery as you pretend to be. Take care of yourself...I'm still praying for God to heal you.

@porwest How are you feeling now? My husband is starting to recover from his second Covid. His worst symptom is lack of sleep and extreme fatigue.

@1creekgirl Physically I feel better, but still a bit more tired than usual, have a bit of a dry cough, and my brain feels a bit fuzzy. But other than that much better. Hope your hubby is doing well as well.

@lovebuglena Heaven's no. Even on my worst day I think it better spent above ground than below it.

@porwest I know. I was commenting on my comment that I would miss you. I know, I should be ashamed of myself! But I DID mean it.

Sounds as if you are recovering well. Yes, myLot friends matter, even when they might be abrasive or opinionated. We love ya anyway.

I can only be me at the end of the day of course. For whatever that is worth. For better or worst. lol
At the end of the day what I really try to be is honest, real, informed and informative. Sometimes truth, reality, information and letting people know about certain things rubs them the wrong way simply because they don't want truth, reality, information or to be informed.
It is what it is. lol

I thought by now my Pink Flamingoes song, my best performing one on the album, might have already landed a spot in a TV show, commercial, or movie...
But I am still waiting.
In the meantime I am happy to argue with anyone around here for a few extra pennies. lol

I didn't know you have COVID. I hope you are feeling better very soon! I know so many people who have had it. A few had really bad cases. I know 2 with long COVID. Frankly I'm shocked that I haven't come down with it yet with all of the exposure I have at work. 2 students of mine went out on quarantine just on Friday. There is definitely a new wave here in the northeast. I'm just glad to be vaxxed and boosted because I am high risk.
