Do you trust people's promises?

I used to trust people's promises. They promised to be there for me. They said that I can count on them and after a week they started to ignore me. I will never trust people's words again. I understand them if they are tired or if they have personal problems. But I don't understand why they make promises if they can't keep them. Do you have a friend that promised to be there for you? When you need help what do you do if people keep breaking their promises? Do you ask God to help you if you don't have friends?

Yes. But it depends upon who's the one promising. Just like my supervisor, promised before if we hit 6 promoters (100% survey from 6 customers) without any detractors, he'll be given us a budget for milk tea. But unfortunately, I still didn't get that budget. I hit 6 customers of 100% survey few weeks ago in one day. False promises. Lol.

It varies by person. Some I trust. Others I do not. And yes, I have been surprised by some who were not there for me. And some who were.

I trust no one's promises - unless "trust" has stood the test of time. I have experienced too many broken promises in my life and I refuse to be hurt like that anymore. On that note, I won't make a promise unless I know I can follow through.

@dya80dya Right. That's almost like telling a lie.

Me too. Why promise anything if we can't follow through?

Only God can help us. I hope He exists. I have doubts sometimes.

It depends on who the person is and what they're promising. If it's a friend promising to pay me back some money he borrowed, I figure I'll never see the money again. If it's my daughter promising to help me cook dinner tonight, yes, I'll trust her to actually do that.

@dya80dya Usually not, no. I tell them to ask Pretty now. She always tells them no.

Depending on the person, there are some people who do keep their promises but most don't. Learn from the experience that has happened so I don't expect much when people promised something to me because I don't want to be disappointed..
