Do you use cayenne pepper in your cooking?

A few days ago, I made an egg bake which called for eggs, (obviously), broccoli, cayenne pepper and regular black pepper. Quite simple really. I substituted zucchini for the broccoli.
My husband wouldn't eat more than the initial serving. It only called for 1/4 of a teaspoon but he wouldn't eat the leftovers. I had no problem with it though so I was able to enjoy every bite. Years ago when I got tired of pizza I used to put red pepper flakes in top of my pizza to make them different. I'm sure that's why it wasn't too spicy for me.
I'll be making it again one day but without putting either pepper in before baking. In the mean time I intend to make more of the skillet meal which he enjoyed immensely. This time I'll be using green beans, colored peppers and maybe some zucchini. Or I'll save the zucchini for a different meal
.
It's supposed to rain today and the next two days and if that happens I want to make several meals ahead of time and freeze some for when I'm working.
The pic is the egg bake.

So you like hot or spicy foods at all? There are certain things I'll never use like possibly jalapenos and certain sauces.

@MarshaMusselman - I sprinkle more on the food I serve to my husband, he likes more spicy than I do.

Cayenne pepper is just a little too hot for me. 99% of the time I just use black pepper and occasionally red pepper flakes

@Marilynda1225 if not about something we can use we at least learn about the lives of others here.

I always thought cayenne pepper was crushed red pepper flakes but maybe I'm wrong.
I just looked it up and the flakes actually have mostly cayenne pepper in them along with other spices.

@DianneN I hadn't thought of trying on my popcorn.

I didn't use much but found out that my husband didn't like it at all. Now if I want any I'll put it on my own foods.
Good too see you again.

@MarshaMusselman That’s wise. I sprinkle it on my popcorn, too.
Many thanks. The last several months have been wild for us.

I didn't expect it to spice up the meal quite that much.

From now on I'll put a punch into my own foods but not into them before they're baked.

@MarshaMusselman Once it's in the food, can't take it out
. I know I made the mistake once and dumped way too much (by accident) in a soup. I tried to spoon most of it out, but we could totally taste it anyway (too much). We love spicy, but all of us have a different tolerance for it.

The recipe only called for 1/4 teaspoon but it was too much for hubby maybe it didn't mix well and he got most of it
I used to put red pepper flakes into my pizza

Many don't care for cayenne pepper. You can simply add it to your own food, at the table. This way, your husband won't be eating food that he doesn't enjoy the taste. I hate hot food (spicy)! I refuse to eat it, the spices burn my stomach lining and I don't enjoy the taste, either.

I don't plan on using it any longer. Since I've never used that particular one before I had no idea just how hot it might be. Since I'm cooking mainly for him I want him to enjoy my efforts.

@kobesbuddy in the past he's cooked quite a bit of his own meals because I work during the super meals. Now that we've invested in this plan I want to ensure that he keeps eating his lean and greens. So I intend to keep making things ahead of time when I can. Once we're doing windows more regularly that might be difficult.

@MarshaMusselman I do the same thing, I cook according to my husband likes and dislikes. He's always smiling after dinner:)
