Enjoyed this simple treat called Poor Man's Turtle candy. We always had this growing up. My aunt had an orchard of pecan trees. So, our freezers were always full of pecans.
Lots of pecan pies and all sorts of recipes. This turtle candy was another of those favorites. I don't make it often but every now and then I enjoy it, when I have the pecans.
Someone called it Poor Man's Turtle Candy. And the name stuck. I still call it that and have great memories of my Mom making this many times in our kitchen.
I used a pack of Rollo’s chocolates and pretzels. My Mom always made a fudge sauce and poured over the pretzels.

Sounds good. I do like pecan pies, but don't really get them that often.

These days it could be Rich Man's Turtle candy as pecans are expensive
(here, it is anyway). We do a similar thing with window pretzels and Rollo's for Christmas. Sandwiched Rollo between 2 window pretzels - then half dipped in white chocolate with red and green sprinkles over that. GOOD schtuff!!

One of my dad’s grandfathers had a pecan orchard too. Now, do you call them pecans or pecans?

It's unique for it's my first time to see that kind of candy. It resembles the back of a turtle. Who invented that? I'm just curious to know.

@Nakitakona Pecans are expensive. Inflation in our country today, due to the president, caused everything to go up in price.
