Getting my blood drawn.

I want to be clear, despite checking my blood sugar daily, I hate needles. I will usually do anything to avoid them. However, my husband can be good about getting me to do things I don't want to do. This includes getting my blood drawn. In a few minutes, we'll be headed to the lab. I just hope it's not a long wait.

Sorry you have to do that today.
I had to do that yesterday.

I won't have to do it again for another six months. Hopefully longer.

@kaylachan Did they do okay? I got lumps on my left arm from the hospital and bruises on my right from yesterday

@RebeccasFarm No. The nurse used one of the larger needles, fine. However, she kept having to move it and push it in deeper. I would've thought I needed more than two vials, the way she did it.

I had to wait a little, but not as long as usual.

@kaylachan Did they have trouble? Every time I go in they have difficulty finding a vein.

@AmbiePam A little bit. My veins often pop up easily, but drawing from them can be a task in a half. Needle was in my arm longer than I would've liked.

Not fun but better than having to hang out with the doctor. I will have to do that next week. I hate it so much.

I try not to let it get to me. I'm always asking if it's working, because I can't see the blood come out. Don't want that thing in me any longer than I have to.

I have type 1.5 LADA diabetes and I am insulin dependent. I put insulin injections before every meal and prick my fingers to check my blood sugar few times in a week. But still I am scared of someone drawing my blood at lab. Hope all goes well there. Being a diabetic, I have to get it done at least twice a year.

I had my blood drawn as well back in January. The needle was big and I also hate it.
