Men Can Be Victims too.

People tend to forget or are unwilling to accept the fact that men can suffer mental and physical abuse by women -- the weaker sex.
One good thing about the televised Johnny Depp , Amber Heard court case is that it has reminded the general public that men do suffer abuse from their spouses or girlfriends.
Most of it is not reported because of a feeling of shame.
I heard about an abused man who went to the police station several times to make a report. However he would leave without saying anything whenever a male officer was there. He waited until a female officer was on duty before making the report.
It seems that female officers are more sympathetic to male domestic violence victims.
What are your thoughts on this matter? Do you know of any male person who has been abused by girlfriend or spouse?
What advice would you give to the victim and abuser.

I was wondering why it was televised- and to be honest l wasn't paying any attention to it. My son was taken up with the 'show' and related everything to me.
Apart from not being a fan of "Pirates of the Caribbean" or "Aquaman". I already know that men can and are being abused. I wrote a discussion on it some years ago on Mylot.

A lot more men are abused by their spouse than is reported. People think it's funny when a man is abused by a woman. Why else would it have taken seven years for me to get divorced? It wasn't until I broke down crying in court and told the judge he was helping my wife to abuse me the longer he allowed her to keep taking me back to court.
Reporting spousal abuse to the police if you're a man is embarrassing. The police think it's hilarious that a woman can beat up on a man or abuse him mentally. They wouldn't do anything to help me.

@Kandae11 My exes friends all thought it was terrible but couldn't do anything to help me. My ex loved to torture me mentally and that doesn't show to the police.

Seems like police are the same everywhere, they portray this kind of macho approach and refuse to accept that there are some women who are tougher than men - probably an overdose of testosterone somewhere along the line. I am very sorry that happened to you , and l can tell you - any woman who tries any abuse tactics with my son will have me to contend with.

@DaddyEvil The scars of mental torture can't be seen by anyone. Until those who are not strong mentally may one day explode and people wonder - "Oh where did that come from?" - Mr X or Mrs X seemed so quiet and unassuming.

God created Man&Woman as equals. Nither one is abused more than the other. This is a falacy, men just don't admit to getting hurt or injured. They pretent to strong and tough, another falacy. Human being learn to be play actors.

Yes, my younger son has been abused by his wife. He stays away from her, but my advice would be to throw such abusive people out of life whether man or woman.

What I find sad is they usually good dudes a little to good and was watching this video on Reddit and this was just a stranger but she was tearing his car apart and then started hitting him and homie wanted to hit her back but everyone was like do not hit her back and instead of pulling her off they just recorded it and next thing she started biting him real hard I do not care I would have pushed her to ground as they say here you wanna act like a man we can surely treat you like a man.

@Kandae11 Amen and true, thank you for saying that. Because not sure if people can understand basic decent behavior anymore.

Anything that goes on in public now - could be a fight or a serious car accident - the first thing onlookers do instead of helping to difuse a situation , they pull out their phones and start recording. People have grown cold and social media crazy.
I don't care who it is , if someone is being attacked by male or female , he or she has the right to defend themselves.

I agree. She was a doozy too that Amber..she was very unbelievable.
I am glad Johnny exposed this as it was an important thing to do for his kids too.

Yeah, I agree with shame. Some men, suffer abuse but remained silent because they don't want people to see them

@Kandae11 this is when the desire for love is so strong, that even an abusive person is better than no person. There is the hope that things will get better , but the abusive person sees this as weakness and continues to abuse and it gets worse, to the point the person has no alternative but to leave or suffer severely.

I met a male once that wanted a divorce from his wife but she would not give it to him and I think she mentally abused him. They certainly are victims too and it is sad that they are not believed like females are told that it was their fault and that is not true at all. I am glad that the female officer was sympathetic to the guy that reported it. It is sad that both female or male have to report someone abusing them. People should not treat others so badly. There are too many bullies in this world and they should not exist.

Yes, they certainly can. Most times they are too ashamed to report it too.

A male officer would tell the victim that he is a sissy while a female officer is more likely to give a patient ear.
Apart from physical abuse, I know of cases where men are subjected to belittling that they are nincompoop.
Comparing with other men can be damning.
