This story is very amusing since it is not everyday that a squirrel gets into a news story for interference with a substation in Prior Lake Minnesota that caused a blackout in the area for a period of one hour. Officials with the Minnesota Valley Electric Cooperative (MVEC) reported the story that a blackout in the area near the Twin Cities happened between 7am ion Sunday morning and ended around 8am. The blackout affected around 4,000 customers of the MVEC. Good thing it happened during the early morning hours instead of the evening where chaos inside of house would have happened due to lack of lights inside of the home. What happened to the squirrel after the officials of the MVEC solved the problem is not known however.

@RubyHawk The same with me seeing squirrels run on the electrical wires on the streets from the front yard of the home.

Did the squirrel get a spanking for causing this disturbance? Glad it wasn't a bad outage.

@celticeagle I agree with you since I am sure that when they found out that a squirrel messed the electrical power, the employees and management would have been furious or would find it funny.
