Welp, the sorting and purging of our self-storage unit is coming along. Several of us have been working to get it cleaned out. I’ve officially moved the stuff I’m keeping to my older sister and brother-in-law’s storage (minus a bin that I’m working on), so we just need to get the leftover stuff out of there. It’s not all my stuff. My late parents had a lot of stuff in there. I’ve kept a few things, like Momma’s Christmas ornament, or the little Eeyore figure that now sits on my desk (reminds me of her), as well as Daddy’s windbreaker and sweatshirt. My younger sister has a few things she needs to pick up, and then we need to get rid of the donations and trash. Afterward, I’m gonna head up there with a broom, dustpan and small bag to do a last-minute sweep. Then, I’m closing it up. I cannot wait to put this all behind me. With the fees combined, it’s $81 a month to rent this storage unit (my younger sister has pitched in). I was going to move my stuff to a smaller unit, which with the fees would be almost $30 a month (that’s a huge difference from $81), but my brother-in-law told me to just keep my stuff in their storage unit and pay them a few bucks monthly. Eventually, I’m going to go through the bins of stuff that I’m keeping again. Like, I’m going to devote several hours to it (my brother-in-law said we can bring a few bins at a time here, so I don’t have to sit at storage). I’m going to get rid of wrestling shirts I won’t wear anymore (i.e., not my size anymore), most of my wrestling magazines (aside from the ones with my top favorites), etc. My goal is to get down to 1-2 bins, so that when my brother-in-law downsizes his own storage, we can both close up and not have to worry about it anymore. My goal is to have my stuff downsized by the end of the year. I’m also going to be doing the same with my stuff here, once we go through Momma’s stuff at the end of the summer. Sooo, that’s my update. Before anyone asks, no, we’re not moving. We had to take over Momma’s storage unit when she passed, so now we’re just getting rid of stuff and closing it up. Alrighty, I’m gonna wrap this up because I’m still working. Byeeee. Photo Credit: Pixabay.

Renting storage is not a practice here in our place. They dont exist; warehouses are mostly for business not household storage. That is good that you are downsizing on them. Happy purging

Ooooh. I don't even want to rent anymore lol. I just want to close it and forget about it. It's just one more thing to stress over. Thank you! :)

At least getting rid of some materials inside the home will ease up the number of items inside of a home for the future.

True, but we need to focus on storage first so I can cut down on how much I'm paying per month.

Thank you so much. My Dad passed in 2013; Momma passed last summer. It still sucks though.
