Dew On The Roses

Took a walk around the yard earlier this morning. Lots of dew on the blooms. Snapped this photo of the roses in Dustin's garden. These tiny dew drops made my day. When I saw the dew on the roses, I immediately thought of a song my Mom used to sing while she was cooking. An Elvis song called.. In The Garden. Such beautiful lyrics to this song. Amazing how a second in life can take you back to a memory in your mind. I added a link to the song performed by Alan Jackson, if you are interested in listening. This memory has stayed with me all morning. Almost like a visit from my Mom. I will take what I can get. She was always so happy, singing in the kitchen. And I would share these roses with her if I could. Photo is mine.

@Juliaacv Yes it was the perfect way to start my day for sure. The rose bush is doing well. Many new sprouts have appeared from the bottom. Amazing to watch it grow year after year.

Oh Carol, what a stunning photo you have there. I know Dustin is there too as it is much too beautiful RIP That Alan sang the lovely song so beautifully too. I am glad you have treasured memories of your Mama too.

I never knew Elvis sang this. My husband probably did as he knows all his movies. The few does look cool. I know that song too but I don't think I would have remembered the song right away.

She had a gospel album Elvis made and the song was on that album.

No, he didn't write it, but she listened to his version of the song. It was written by C. Austin Miles (1868–1946), a former pharmacist who served as editor and manager at Hall-Mack publishers for 37 years.

Yes, it's like a message from them, indeed! I was walking home from Marukai, after shopping, there it was, a car with specialized license with my Mom's first name. I had to smile, and her image stayed with me all day afterwards.

Of course that song comes instantly to mind when I read the title. Glad you added the link. It is frequently chosen when people get to request hymns at church. Hubby always love to hear it. Yes, it takes many of us back in our memories.

Beautiful shot. Dew doesn't exist here unless it is cold outside and by then nothing is blooming.

Great photo it is nice seeing the dew on flowers. In England we do don't generally use the term yard. We call it garden so it confuses me a little as l picture a small concrete yard at the back of houses in the north of the country.
