"Can't Help Falling in Love With You" was recorded for the album "Blue Hawaii" in 1961. It was written by Hugo Peretti, Luigi Creatore and George David Weiss. The music is based on a popular French love song composed in 1784, "Plaisir d' Amour". Some of the lines of the song don't rhyme because it was originally written from a woman's perspective -- "Can't Help Falling in Love With Him".
The song was certified Platinum for US sales in excess of a million copies. A 2020 survey by On Buy found that it was the most popular choice for the first dance at a wedding. It reached #1 on the US Adult Contemporary Billboard chart.
"Like a river flows
Surely to the sea
Darling, so it goes
Some things are meant to be."

I am not a Presley fan but will probably go see "Elvis"--a movie opening this Friday and getting rave reviews!

It's one of my favorites; and I'm not really an Elvis fan.
