Rib Eye Steak Dinner

Enjoyed dinner this evening. Had one rib eye steak in the freezer. It was part of a gift certificate received for Christmas. I wrote about this gift a few months ago. It was for Fossil Farms all natural meats. I thought oh my, I will never use this. But I placed an order. One item was for a Rib Eye steak. No antibiotics, steroids and hormones are used in their meats. The package came in dry ice, well sealed and well packaged. I have to say I was very impressed at the taste of this steak. And I am not a big meat eater at all. I cooked it in the slow cooker with beef broth, salt, pepper, onions. I added small potatoes for the last two hours it cooked. Sort of like cooking a roast. I made cornbread instead of biscuits as planned. Something different. And it was absolutely delicious. Photo is mine.

Sounds yummy! I had a burger. I certainly don't eat meat everyday. I don't plan not to really, but it just works out that way, better all around. Your steak sounds good.

It was good. I had 3-4 bites and it was plenty for me, with the potatoes and cornbread.

I'm confused for I'm not familiar with rib eye steak. Is it a brand name Rib Eye. Why is it called rib eye steak?

Certainly does sound delicious and glad you enjoyed your rib eye steak. I was recently looking at Omaha Steaks figuring it would be nice to have some good steak to cook on the grill but it was a little too pricey for me right now. Meat prices are going up so quickly that I'm more inclined to eat less meat and make more meatless meals.

I have beef ribs cooking in my crock pot with potatoes and carrots. It will be really good when it is done.

Organic meat tastes so good. We eat very little meat, but we only buy local organic meat. Corn bread is delicious.
