Do you partake of meat dishes every day ?, or maybe twice or thrice a week or once a month? Before becoming a semi- vegetarian my favorite was and still is chicken meat - and sometimes turkey. I would have it barbecued , baked or jerked. How do you like your meat? For the last fifteen years l have chosen to have chicken only on special occasions - like a birthday celebration and on Christmas Day. On Christmas day l prepare one of Guyana's ( my homeland) national dishes - Pepperpot. The recipe calls for red meat but l substitute chicken and it works very well for me. If it happens that you must give up one kind of meat, which one would be very easy for you to forget about? Pixabay image

Not an enormous chicken fan, but I do eat reasonably frequently because it is cheap. I would put myself in the the thrice a week category for meat. maybe 5 times...I do eat veg pretty often not always intentionally but it works out that way.

@Kandae11 The problem with a lot of veggie dishes is that they are kind of labor intensive, those ready made have a lot of chemicals and or preservatives in them. Veggie stuff needs to be more affordable and more wholesome.

I am a nonvegetarian but like you, I eat meat occasionally. My wife is a pure vegetarian and she cooks and never allows meat to be cooked in the kitchen. We eat chicken mostly and order it from outside.

@Kandae11 yes I have to buy it and I know homemade chicken is tastier than bought from outside.

Ha , That could be a bit difficult. Your wife a vegetarian and you are not, so whenever you eat chicken it must be bought from outside.

We mostly eat chicken or beef with turkey coming in during the holidays. Pretty stopped eating pork, so I rarely bother to buy it for myself. And yes, I do eat meat at least once every day. Mostly we eat meats baked in the oven, like the chicken we baked with potatoes, green beans and onions last night. Yum!

@Kandae11 We don't deep fry anything. It's either baked or cooked in the crockpot. Thanks. It was delicious.

I eat chicken and turkey more frequently because it's healthier but I do love red meat (which I only have occasionally) The one meat I could give up easily would be pork and I used to love it. Now I don't seem to be interested in it no matter how I prepare it. I do have meatless days at least once or twice a week

@Kandae11 It's only my daughter and myself and we're pretty much on the same page when it comes to making our meals. It probably would be much harder if I had someone that wasn't as easy to please as she is

It takes willpower to have something you really love only occasionally - especially when you live with others who are not like minded. Your plan is a good one.

I eat as little meat as possible, but I do indeed love it. I think perhaps beef might be the one I would have to choose to give up as chicken is healthier IMO

@Kandae11 Here beef and veal is quite expensive, but my hubby and I buy it from the butcher and we get a hind quarter at a time. It lasts us a year, and we always share it with our son and his wife.

I think beef would be best. I've been eating hamburgers three times a day because I went to Costco wholesale store and bought frozen burgers that cook in the microwave in two minutes. They taste just like the grill. This is the last thing I need. I get this burger which is quite big for a dollar a piece. I must resist getting these , I'll eat them all in two days. I need to let go of beef, but these burgers aren't helping. I'm going to try more frozen fish.

I am not even going to visit the question because I will never give up my meat. lol. But meat is a part of my daily diet. The only time I don't eat meat is when I am eating seafood. Other than that, there is always meat on my plate.

@Kandae11 That would be an entirely different situation. Although I cannot think of any medical condition that would have meat as a problem, although perhaps certain types of meats might.

Right now possibly chicken because we've been eating a lot of it. Normally I might cook meat a couple times per week but for the last two months we have some type of protein daily for the special food plan were following in the hopes that my husband loses weight.
