What we know now

I went to Wesley Hospital this morning, believing that the MRI was done yesterday or last night. It still has not been done. A couple of things are holding it up. 1) there are people in more urgent need of an MRI than Bob. 17 of them to be exact. Bob just called to tell me that number. 2) When the MRI is done a representative of the company that made the pacemaker/defib device must be present. They are not here at this time. So Bob is sleeping a lot, reading a little, watching a little television. He has two IV drugs running that are very powerful and broad spectrum. If there is any bacterial infection going on, he will have an excellent start on getting it under control. No surgeon wants to do anything without an MRI. If the infection or whatever is clearing up, and not too bad, there will be no surgery. If it is needed the infection, or whatever, will be cleaned up surgically. VA is going to attempt to cover this as an emergency admit. So that is what we know as of now.

I hope that they can get thru that line up ahead of him before too long. In the meantime, you try to keep busy.

I definitely keep busy. I also now seem to have Bob convinced to call me frequently. That way I do not interrupt cares or a meal or a nap.

Good to know where you/hubby stands. I hope the VA covers it. Sounds like Bob is getting what he needs for now and he won't have any infections or such to worry about later. Now you try and get some rest and watch a bit of tv. Hehe.

A couple of meds here have wanted me to have MRIs for what I consider wrong reasons. My health insurance does not cover them.

My insurance covers pretty well. Better than my previous one. I still owe $149 for the last one. I agree there is not always a good enough reason to subject your pocket book or your body to that. I believe the Veterans Administration is covering Bob.

I hope that they can arrange so that the representative of the pacemaker can be there while they perform the MRI. This is a long wait.

I hope so, but anyone who comes in through Emergency room that needs an MRI comes before him. His understanding is that these are a lot of them covid patients with lung involvement.

@GardenGerty That's a bit different if everyone comes before him. He could be in for a long wait.

Sorry that there is such a long wait for the MRI. Am glad they are giving him IV's and hope that the antibiotics help with his infection. Continued prayers for you both.
