I just happened to wake up from a nap last night in time to watch "Long Promised Land" on PBS. It was a new documentary on Brian Wilson. In case you don't know who he is: he is on of The Beach Boys. He was interviewed and drove around California to all his old haunts. He had two brothers. One, Dennis, who drowned in 1983 at age 39, and, Carl died of lung cancer at age 51 in 1997. He was very close to his brothers and it was very emotional for him. They made some beautiful music together. Sir Elton John, Bruce Springstein, and some other music producers talked about their experiences with Brian. Brian also discusses how he formulated certain songs and how they came to be. Their beautiful voices and music will go on forever. I don't know of any tune they have done that I don't like. It was a great documentary. Here is one of Brian's greatest tunes: Image courtesy of Flickr.com

What about his cousin Mike Love? He must have been very close to him, too, as he co-founded the group.

There was a lot of conflict between him and the band. He has many of the same honors as the rest of the band.
