Little sins become big sins

One may ask, "what is the big deal if I commit one little sin every now and then if it is something that is not that big a deal, especially if it doesn't affect anyone else?" First of all, one little sin sent Jesus to the cross. To the Father, every sin is a big deal. Secondly, James 1:15 states, "These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death." Sin never remains one little sin. NEVER NEVER is this the case. One little sin grows and becomes a lifestyle and collection of sin. Sin never affects only the individual sinner. You may think it is only about you, but as you give that sin power in your life, it will began to reach out its arms and touch everyone around you and you won't even see it happening until it is a devouring monster. Thirdly, The Psalmist said in Psalm 141:2 "Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, To practice wicked works With men who work iniquity; And do not let me eat of their delicacies." Sin distorts the mind. Once one entertains the idea of sin, they have given the enemy a room in their mind. He will pervert and distort God's truths. Before long, the individual is not just committing a "little, non-important" sin every now and then; they are calling good evil and evil good. They embrace and celebrate sinful lifestyles. Sin begins to look more desirable than God's Word. The Psalmist knew this and that is why he cried out to God to stop him as before he was tempted. If one is even asking "why is one little sin a big deal", that one has already decided to disobey God and disregard His precepts. That one has already chosen their loyalty and it is NOT the Heavenly Father. If one is entertaining the idea of sin, and trying to justify it in their mind, and playing, in their mind, every possible scenario so that they are not found out; then they have already sinned and chosen the sin. Here are some verses that will empower and equip us all to live in God's victory instead of caving in to the enemy: James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. I John 1: 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I Corinthians 15:33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.” Proverbs 4:23 Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life. Colossians 3:2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.

Justifying a little sin means lying to oneself, and we know where lies come from. Good thing God is merciful even with the biggest sins, but it takes sincere repentance to be saved.
