Went to Tawas Hospital for Testing

Today, my nurse ordered some testing done at Tawas Hospital. I've been having some problems. They don't seem to be going away on their own, though I was hoping they would. This happened a few years ago, it ended up being a kidney infection. I hope this isn't what's wrong this time around, yet it could be what's going on. With diabetes, it affects a person's body in different ways. It's not just about keeping the glucose levels low, there are other things that crop up. My doctor might order another examination of my kidneys. I'm not sure how they can do this, without injecting dye. I'm allergic to dye, so it has to be done another way. Anyway, I did go into the hospital laboratory for this test. I'm back home and doing OK. I had to wait for less than an hour, which was pretty good. Photo: Not mine, borrowed from Pixabay

Hope you recover from your ailments soon. You can soak some fennel seeds every night and drink that water empty stomach in the morning. This will improve your diabetic condition. For the kidney soak some big seeded raisins and drain them before eating. Have them in the evening.

One of the primary ways they check your kidney function is with a blood test. They check your bun and creatinine levels. You would have to read more about that. If your kidneys are having trouble usually they will not do the imaging with dye, because that is hard for your kidneys to process. Even with allergies to the radioactive dye, which could be a shellfish allergy, if they MUST do imaging with it they pre medicate with antihistamines and steroids in advance and the I believe do an IV flush of fluids immediately after the test. Due to accompanying my sister and my husband for many tests I know all of this. My sister has allergic reactions to the dye. Bob has poor kidney function, due in part to his heart medications.
I hope you can get some answers with your tests. I am allergic to those dyes, too. And it seems like every test they think I need, they want to use dye. I end up with a closed throat and a tube to breathe, so no dye. I really hope you have a good report and solutions.
