I Don't Know What We Are Going To Do

As many of you know we just had a litter of five kittens about two months ago. We live in housing and there is no way we can keep these cute little ones. We have two other cats besides the mother and now these five. Too many. My daughter had accumulated about a dozen cats years ago now but we were nearly evicted because of the number of cats.
I have made an appointment to have the mother cat spayed and I thought we could take the kittens with her in the animal carrier that she is taking the mother in. My daughter said the vet hospital is in the same area as the humane society. So we could give the kittens to the humane society after she dropped off the mother cat for her surgery. Easy--Peezy. Ya, right.
This morning I looked on the map and the vet hospital is 4 miles away from the humane society. My daughter was mistaken and, though the humane society has an animal hospital it is only for strays and such. Not the one I have the appointment with. So, I called the humane society. They only do appointments for surrenders. I was directed to the website to fill out a form to make an appointment to surrender the kittens. So I do that and find a form but it is only for animals besides cats and dogs. So now what do we do?
We have two acquaintances/friends here in the apartment complex who drive. One is a druggy and isn't really reliable. The other one works. Ubers aren't cheap. I was going to pay for my daughter to transport the mother cat to the animal hospital that morning(between 7:30a. and 8a.) and then back home. We would have to pick the cat up that same evening(about 5p.). That is four trips and even in the economical car that would probably cost about $50. But, what about the kittens?
It is so inconvenient not having a car. I hate to depend on others and then have them not do it when it comes time. Oh, what to do?

We find it tedious to raise a female cat for we can't afford to have many kittens. But our latest adopted kitty is a female.

@celticeagle That's too much for her when mating season comes.

I would talk to the vet hospital where you're getting the cat spayed, and ask what they recommend. Are the kittens weened?

Yes, cats are weened. We set up a surrender appt. for late that morning. Will just have to hope it all goes well.

@celticeagle If I thought I could, I'd take them. But, we have three senior cats already.

@kaylachan .......It would be hard to get them to you in Florida from Idaho anyway.

You can always drop them off at the County animal shelter. Good luck.
