Germany
June 24, 2022 5:16am CST
Hello! Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening to all my dear mylotters I am back again to ask mylotters about saving electricity. Since, cost of many things are increasing. One thing that I want to avoid using so much is the iron because it takes a lot of electricity. So, I don`t iron our clothes as much as possible only the clothes that really needs to be ironed like office clothes How about you my dear mylotters? Do you always Iron your clothes? How do you save nowadays? I hope you can share it with me here Have a great day, Happy mylotting and See you around Photo: Vektor stock (google)

With cost of utilities rising l might be ironing less, but l love ironing. Up to a couple years ago I ironed almost everything - even my pillowcases.

Now at this time we consider this as luxury, not as essential.

I fold some of my clothes which is not necessary to iron them, then I put them let's say under a cushion seat then I let them be there for few hours, because I will be seating on the cushion seat sometimes and when I move the clothes under the cushion seat they look fine. I only iron the ones which is necessary to iron.

I haven't ironed anything in years. The dryer does a good job of dewrinkling, and I also have a wrinkle free spray I use.

That`s great. I am thinking of not ironing soon but I will see if I can change the fabric conditioner to help me out with the wrinkles

@m_audrey6788 Most clothing here doesn't have that much cotton in it, and they don't tend to wrinkle. Plus if you hang them up right after the dryer they don't. Dryer sheets might help, and I find wrinkle free sprays really good too.

I don't think I've ironed any clothes since I left the military 34 years ago. I'm not sure we even have an iron in the house.

I used to iron everything, even t- shirts, until my board broke. I can't carry one in on the bus, so stopped ironing.

@m_audrey6788 It's ok. But ironing makes you look better. I learned to live without ironing, because can't iron. Using dryer helps having nice looking clothes.

I iron all those that need to be ironed. I do not wear cotton clothes not ironed. I wait to have several things to iron and I do everything at the same time, it saves electricity.

Nope haven't ironed anything in a long time. The last thing I ironed was months ago when we got new curtains for the living room and they came all wrinkled in the package.

@m_audrey6788 ironing does use a lot of electricity that's why I'm happy that nearly everything I wear doesn't need to be ironed. When I used to work I had to iron more because I had clothes that were more business attire. Now I live in casual clothes

I iron pillow cases usually unless they are dry and I can put them straight back on the pillows. I iron handkerchiefs and a few good clothes but that's all.

I have never ironed my clothes! When I wash them, then I give them a bit of a shake and hang them up to dry, normally they are fine. I only ever use an iron when I am sewing, as some parts need to be pressed.
