A rant............

A bee collecting pollen

I can't help it, I just have to rant a little, can you forgive me? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Butt before the rant, that GIF, if it loads, is of a bee collecting pollen. I took it this morning. As a woman I feel no one has the right to tell me what I can or cannot do with my own body. Also, as a woman, if I am raped I have the right to terminate any pregnancy that such an occurrence might cause. I also feel I have the right to have sex if I want to and if I get pregnant because of it I should not be punished by being prevented from terminating a pregnancy. Why don't men simply have vasectomies? It's not like they ever pay any kind of price for having sex. Ok, I'z done with that Whew.

Great GIF. I am pro life; but I don't like the fact that women will go to back alley "doctors" to get their abortions. It's too dangerous.

We all have the right to believe as we wish but no one has the right to tell another person what they are allowed to do with their own bodies. I've noticed that men, those who were born male, are never targeted.

@LindaOHio Well said. This is the very reason that even as pro-lifer I still supported Roe v. Wade, fearing back room abortions that may have worse outcomes overall. I still do, however, support returning the decision to the states where VOTERS will have more to say about it.

I'm currently working 7 days a week 12 hours a day (minimum) so haven't been on mylot for ages. I came back today purely to have a look what's going on with regards to the topic of your discussion. Abortion is, and always will be, a very thorny topic. I could probably write quite a bit about the pros and cons but, don't worry, I won't Bottom line, in my humble opinion, the woman is the pregnant one so it should ultimately be her choice. I am absolutely a supporter of adoption rather than abortion but that's by the by...her body her choice. With the greatest respect to US people I believe you've taken a very big step in the wrong direction.

I agree, the supreme court is not going to hear the end of this one that is for sure. No modern woman wants to be told what she can or cannot do in regards to her own body. The sad thing is that all too often someone starts pushing their religious beliefs on us all.

It is possible that it might be found that their decision was based on their personal religious beliefs which should never be a part of our justice system.

There never has been and never will be a constitutional right to an abortion. It is a state policy, not a federal one, so it is not illegal in the United States. And ever since the National Interstate and Defense Highways Act of 1956 established an interstate highway system in the United States, we have been able to get out of places that don't have things and into places that do easier than we could before 1973. So, no one is prevented from access to having an abortion in the United States. Those who live in states preventing abortion have a right to fight to vote to reverse those laws. But no one has a right to attack Supreme Courts Justices and their families because they ruled to do what was right and return that unconstitutional policy back to the states.

Well, as far as I know if a US citizen chooses to be Atheist it's their right, so wouldn't that be under freedom from religion?

@rebelann @porwest I certainly agree with the reality that a my-body-my-choice woman has every right to choose to be promiscuous. She knows she has no complete understanding of the responsibility that entails and the consequences of her choice to be promiscuous. Still is her choice to an existence of promiscuity. And if that woman conceives, there are humanitarian agencies and health centers she can seek help on behalf of her unborn child. Mainly carrying it to full-term and get support--medically and financially. If she still believes that she is unfit and is not deserving to be the mother of her unborn child, then, a deserving family will adopt and love her child and give the child the chance of a full and meaningful life. In an unfortunate case of rape, same principle of seeking help from the right kind of vetted people-- medically and financially-- applies.

It has always been an unfair situation for women. Young women are sought after by most men and many times seduce unwitting young women with promises of love etc only to leave them to go after another one. If they end up pregnant because of that then they should have the right to terminate if they choose to do so. Also, if raped no woman should have to bear that child. I see where hundreds of babies remain in foster care or orphanages because they were not wanted by couples looking to adopt. That is not a good life for any child. Then there are those who do not want to pass on genetic diseases like cystic fibrosis or epilepsy, I know if that were in my linage I would not want a child to have those problems. Each woman is different and may have different reasons but each one should have the right to choose.

@everwonderwhy I cannot disagree. As I have said many times, once there is a child in tow it's not just about the mother's choice anymore. That child has a choice too.

My husband and I had a short discussion about how it makes more sense for a man to have a vasectomy than for a woman to be sterilized. He knew I was right and he shut his pie hole.

@rebelann So I think everyone knew during the confirmation hearings. They said Roe was settled law. Settled means settled, I thought. But guess not. They lied. This was the intent all along. They lied to America and to the Senate. If they could overturn this, I am afraid of the next ones they will overturn. There must absolutely be separation of church and state!

I agree with you totally. Those bozos talk with forked tongues.........damn lizards or is it snakes that have that forked tongue I swear, ever since Obama gave each state the right to make their own choices about important things like providing laws to protect endangered species, issuing hunting licenses for predators like wolves, bobcats, cougars etc and now this, it's one hell of a scary mess out there. TX seems to be the dumbest

Thanks. Yeah, it's best to rehash all this once the issue has cooled down a bit. I think Trump chose a woman to put in the supreme court that uses her religion to make decisions, there goes the idea of separation of church and state.
