Yummy bone marrow

My mom got us some bone marrow. Three packs actually. We are going to take it with us when we go to her summer bungalow, where she is staying right now. Not sure how many packs hubby wants to take. Three seems like it will be too much. I think we are gonna roast the bone marrow in the oven for about 15 minutes at 450 F. When it's done we will scoop it out and put it on some fresh crispy bread (a baguette is best probably) and maybe top it with a parsley salad. It's gonna be really yummy. My mouth is watering just thinking about this. Just have to remember to buy the bread, as she doesn't have any, and to actually take the bone marrow with us. I hope she will like this.

@lovebuglena Ossobuco is cut in the leg of a veal, you cook the slice of leg and you scoop out the marrow. This is how the raw meat looks.

@LadyDuck Thanks. I know how it looks like but wasn't sure if that was veal or pork or some other meat.

I love to eat bone marrow. We stew or boil the animal bone like the pig or cow in a simple recipe. Then when cook, we remove the bonr marrow from the bone. It's yummy. It's also very healthy or nutritious.

@lovebuglena yes to taste especially the soup. Sometimes we add vegetable fruit like a cubed raw jackfuit.

Usually (if I can bite into it) I get the marrow out of all chicken bones. Hubby taught me that lol. And if I can't bite into the bone hubby will do it for me and give me the marrow.

I have never tried that. It really does not sound too appetizing to me.

It's not sold everywhere I guess. I've eaten it a restaurants a few times and we did it a few times at home as well. The bone marrow we have is already sliced so we don't have to worry about that.

The bread (toasted a bit in the oven) topped with the bone marrow and the parsley, shallot salad was delicious. Even my mom loved it. Though I have to say the shallot I diced was a bit intense.

@JimBo452020 Great that you are open to trying it. I am always surprised when people say they don't like something before they've even tried it.

I usually always suck out bone marrow from chicken bones (or any other poultry) if I can bite into them. Or from any other meat. It's so good.
