I finally called my brother, and like a doof (at least I felt like one after I said it) wished him a happy Father's day. He replied, "Uh, that was last week." 
Like I told him, it's the thought that counts.
As I suspected, he got caught up in other things, which is why he didn't come by today. He said he'd try to be by later tomorrow afternoon--as I get off work at 2 and am usually home around 3.
So, tomorrow's planned already. 
Of course, plans do change, but anyway...
