Do Women Have a Chance?

Amazon used an experimental algorithm to hire employees. They abandoned its use when they found that there was gender bias. The algorithm rejected all-female applications. Any application that had a women's college, sport or another female-affiliated source on it was rejected.
AI can develop bias from several sources. The person writing it, the data used to train it, and some factors that seem unrelated.
These algorithms are trained to observe patterns to predict outcomes.
It felt that the low proportion of women working there was due to male dominance and thought that this was a factor for success.
Bias and discrimination have been an issue in recruitment for years. Algorithms use data created by humans and therefore developed undesirable human traits. A pattern of sexism against female candidates arose and continues.
This bias is not just found at Amazon but all around the world, in all types of businesses and recruitment areas like insurance companies and law enforcement.
Women are not found in powerful tech jobs in any company very often. This is a mathematical decision by these algorithms and is not ethical. Yes, women have nothing that they can do. No legislation has been put into force. At this point, nothing can be done.
Do women have a chance?

Women can do what men can. In our place there's no discrimination about women's job.

In this day and age of machine learning, it doesn't sound like it. But, then women do find jobs in all kinds of fields. So maybe?

@celticeagle I am sure they will. Just think about it. Women have contributed a lot to this world, and will continue to do so.

At my husband and son's job, they make sure to hire women of all races. There is one with a position above my husband and son. Her salary is double theirs.
