I'm Easily Distracted

Happy Tuesday everyone! it's a beautiful sunny day here today with gorgeous blue skies dotted with a few white fluffy clouds. There's a lot of activity going on at the house diagonally behind me. The lawn company men were weeding this neighbors garden/bushes around the deck. There are three men, all sorts of gardening equipment and wheelbarrows (yes plural). At first I thought they were just doing a cleaning/weeding since it really had gotten to be a mess and grown quite high. But as time goes on they're pulling out everything. Being nosey I'm wondering if they are going to replant anything or it it's just too much for my neighbor to attend to, I've been trying to get stuff done but every time I pass by the window I have to stop and watch. You know my life is boring when this is distracting me

They possibly want to make it nicer, or create a pathway. I am also curious when I see neighbors refurbishing their garden.

@Marilynda1225 - When we remodeled our garden (20 years ago) when they started removing everything looked really ugly. We wanted a pathway around the house, so that when it rains we can go out and not bring inside mud. We had a lot to do, as our garden is on the hillside, we created levels to have some flat areas.

@misunderstood_zombie - I think so. When we bought this house and refurbished it inside and the garden, the neighbors came to have a look to see what we were doing.

@LadyDuck I think everyone peeks out to see what's going on when the neighbors refurbish.

Oh I would do the same thing if it were me. However, all the trees prevents me from spying on my neighbors, and vice versa. I can see more of the properties in the winter, although no one is doing too much then typically.

Behind our houses is all open area. We have trees for privacy but not enough to keep us from seeing into other peoples yards. I'm at the end of my block and I can see the backs of houses behind me from my deck or windows.

@Marilynda1225 We did that twice when we lived at our former home in the rural village. We used my Dad's tractor with the loader to do it right, he used the pto shaft and chains to pull out stumps left from the previous owner and he precisely dumped fresh soil so that we had a good basis once it was the heavy work was done and it was time to plant. On Monday a co-worker returned to work from a 3 month leave. She had to shadow someone, and our manager had her shadowing me. It was tiresome, I worked really hard and had to explain alot to her along the way as things change over 3 months. Hopefully today will be an easier day. Yesterday was payday for the seniors receiving OAS (old age security) and CPP (Canada Pension Plan) so our phones were ringing off the hooks as most of them call in to have us pay their bills once their money arrives. Today is disability day, and those on that pension will be calling in.

@Juliaacv Sounds like you definitely had a busy day between having someone shadow you as well as the normal activity with the OAS and CPP. Bet you'll be glad when Canada Day rolls around and you have time off

I'd have my nose pressed to the glass too. It's a pity we can't just go and ask what they're doing then we could get on with the rest of our lives!!

Glad your neighbor is getting some help in the yard. I would be curious as well. I call it keeping an eye on our surroundings.

I was surprised this neighbor let his bushes grow so high and out of control. Mabye now they'll plant something that is easier to care for

@CarolDM with the bushes so high I haven't been able to see any activity until the crew was here removing everything. Before the bushes got higher than the deck I could see if anyone came in or out and they used to bbq a lot. Guess I'll be keeping my nosey pants on for awhile longer

What the neighbours are doing is always a distraction. When I’m in my sewing room I’m in my own world…nothing to distract me but fabric and patterns,,,,..

I have lots of windows and 99% of the time I"m not distracted either but since the dogs started barking I looked to see what was going on. Then I had to continue spying

lol My neighbors across the street are my great-aunt and great-uncle. They had some work done around their house and I was nosy too. This morning has been a bad morning. One of the cats throw up and I had to clean it up. Then my mother had somehow got nail polish everywhere in the bathroom. She cleaned some of it up and I may end up cleaning some more of it up.

Your neighbour might have other ideas in his mind about her garden. Maybe he wants to plant something totally different.
