These are love locks at Pero's Bridge in Bristol. Makes me wonder how many of these people are actually still together. I am on my third relationship but never really thought of love locking yet. Maybe I'll do so before marrying someone. Have you done love locks with someone before?

Is it a thing where you're from? I mean are there any love locks in Indonesia?

@flapiz I think there are of course. You mean two people who never break up and live for ever together?

@yanzalong No I mean people putting their names on the padlock and hoping it is enough to make them stay together

I never did love locks as they became popular many (MANY) years after I got married.

@LadyDuck Yeah I've heard it was making the bridge weak. Too many love fanatics!

@flapiz No, we do not need the lock. In Paris they have cut all the locks because they were damaging the bridges.

Oh we do not have that one done yet and I just think that we do not need to do that anymore. It is more like symbolic to do that and not a requirement for any relationship to last long.

@flapiz Of course it would be romantic with everything that is at the start of a relationship. You can do that of course. but that would not assure you that yours will be as strong as that padlock would stay there.

@rsa101 Hahaha it could be like a joke if I ended up with 10 padlocks from 10 boyfriends.

Hahaha I want to do it just to be cute but I'm sure it does not mean anything in the long run.

I have not done love locks before. I don’t even know of any place in my city where people do something like that. I’m sure the companies that make these locks love this trend, as with the way people go through relationships these days, some of them may be on their 5th or 6th lock!

Hahaha yeah I think it's one of those things that commercialises love. I want to do it at least once but can't seem to find myself carrying a padlock everytime I travel.

@moffittjc Someone should sell it near the bridge. That's clever.

@flapiz Sure, I see what you’re saying. I’d like to try it once as well. But, like you, I don’t normally walk around with a lock in my pocket. I guess I would have to actually plan it out if I were to do it.

I haven't done it and I'm a bit old to start. We saw a bridge in Innsbruck, Austria, and it had a huge number of locks on it.

Hahaha never too old for anything Judy but I don't think you need it. Your relationship has been tested and weathered by time.

@JudyEv Hahaha it should be on a gate not a bridge to be actually useful.

@flapiz I don't think a pair of locks on a gate would help anyone much.

There's no love locks here in our place. But by doing something good, something wonderful I have locked my love to my high school sweetheart in 1972 and now we happily enjoying our faithful marriage for 50 years now.

@flapiz I'm not a "hopeless romantic". I know what I'm doing and it's secured, firmed and realistic
