Aren't the Three Branches of the U.S. Government supposed to have Checks-&-Balances?

I don't get it; I mean, I understand the Executive & Legislative back-&-forth. But is there no Check nor Balance to the Judicial Branch? I understand that Executive nominates them, and Legislative approves them; but THEN what? Are they approved forever (as long as they don't die, retire or commit serious crimes)? And is their no check/balance against decisions THEY make that 'the other two branches' disapprove-of?

its a lifetime appointment. this is why you never want a case to go to supreme court. youd want all judicial manners to stay in your states court, where they are elected by the people. so when ever a case gets thrown back to the states, you should be happy.

Yes, the appointment of s Supreme Court Justice is a lifetime appointment. No, their decisions have nothing to do with their political views.
