I was expecting 1 because tomorrow is my first summer savings deposit. I was excited to see that one because it is always larger than the deposits I normally receive during the school year. And it was. Wowza!
The second one is for the last batch of virtual tutoring sessions. I guess the administrators finally caught up with approving all of the paperwork. That was an extra $785 that I definitely wasn't expecting. I am going to split that between my credit card and savings. I will of course add more to each from the regular summer savings check as well.
A popular opinion among the uneducated and conservative movement is that teachers get paid for not working during the summer. That is straight up not true. Money is withheld post-tax from my bi-weekly salary deposits and it kept in a separate account. When I get my July 1, July 15, August 1, and August 15 deposits it is money I already earned during the school year for work already completed.
Looking forward to banging out some payments tomorrow!

Each school district is different. Yours offers teachers this options, but here in Florida they have no such option. So, those teachers need to find a secondary source of income for time not spent in school.

Because I grew up across the river but still along the Delaware and have lifelong friends and relatives in both states who teach, I was already aware of how you are paid yearlong. I am glad the administrators finally caught up with approving all of the paperwork. Enjoy that ability to make those payments!

Teachers are exploited and deprived of their monetary rights also in India. The government schools at least pay well but the private schools pay morsels that won't sustain the teachers.
