Gas prices are actually DOWN in California!

I can't believe it! Is Russia's war failing? Is Biden opening up pipelines? Are the Gods working overtime? Gas prices were up to $6.29 here in the Eastern suburbs of the Bay Area. Now they're down to $6.17 Up in Montana they're probably at $4.39 or so. Are gas prices coming down where you live? Do you drive enough that gas prices affect your lifestyle?

Every so often, George, my husband, will tell me the Gas price at the pump. I usually have to ask, because he rarely seems to notice. He fills the tank at least once a week. He'll often tell me, because of that, he doesn't notice the price changes. If it's something outrageous, he'll tell me.

@58lordstreet Gas prices could double and I'd still make money by going to work.

No Russia war is not failing, but Biden allowed to drill. Your prices go down, our prices are soaring, because you have oil and Europe NOT, but we had to accept all the sanctions proposed to Russia... we are IDIOTS.

@TheHorse Europe has no electricity either, because we stopped the Nuclear because it is dangerous and crude oil is needed to produce electricity and now we have no crude oil from Russia. So no gas, no gasoline, no electricity... and we thought that the sanctions were bad for Russia! Goodness, first think and then act does not seem to work with politicians.

If not for idiots like Trump on the Republican side, I could go Conservative and agree with harvesting our oil resources in places like Alaska and Canada (our ally). We could probably support the US, Canada, and our European allies as we gradually move toward electric.

It's $4.39 here. Luckily we don't have to go many places right now. Main one is my time at the boutique with is 4 x a month. So glad our moving venture is over with. That was some crazy gas bills with putting in $100+ a day 3-4 days a week!

@kareng It seems that gas is cheaper in the South. I have no clue why.

Not really, no. They're oscillating, so it's important to fill at the right day. It can be up to 30 cent difference per litre from day to day, but it's still around 26 NOK/litre. I drive enough to notice it but not enough to panic. I am however considering not going on a long driving holida this year, or possibly driving across the border to fill diesel. The Swedes have lower prices since the government has substituted the petrol.

@TheHorse And it's probably still more expensieve across the border than across the pond. Substituting doesn't make it cheap I guess. But I think you'd blend in in Sweden. You could just pretend you always been there.

The average price here is around $4.20. Mowing my yard costs about $50 now. It would be much more but a few acres are growing hay and the rest is just woods. The farmer growing the hay gives me a side of beef for it every year.

I like it when I get paid in sides of beef. You might not believe this (I have been reading Mark Twain lately and am prone to exaggeration), but he tried to give me pork one year. I almost fired him and then converted him to Judaism.

Gas hit a high of $4.99 here in my corner of Florida, and yesterday I filled my tank up at a cost of $4.59, so it's come down a good bit in the last couple of weeks.

@TheHorse An article I read the other day said that demand has fallen, as the peak summer driving season has not turned out the way the "experts" predicted it would be. People have cut back on traveling since they can no longer afford the gas.

I wonder what changed. It's now $5.99 here and we're dancing in the streets (celebrating, not looting) about it.

This month, I have too many trips around. You can think 6. Yeah roughly six to seven if not 10 trips. But last month, I went out only five times. Before that, only four times. So I guess, I don't use the car as much as I should. This month ..I have to file Income tax returns, so collecting information from the government offices, ..work begins there. How I wish I did not have to do all this. It is so boring.
