New Jersey is the nation's first "abortion sanctuary state"

I really don't like that description but I really DO like what it means. This week Governor Phil Murphy signed two bills that protects women's reproductive care health information, that prevents licensing boards from disciplining or revoking registration to people involved in reproductive health care, and prevents extradition of individuals to another state when they are accessing health care procedures that are legal in NJ. I say good for the NJ legislature and good for the governor. I have been so upset and outraged about the reversal of Roe v Wade by the Supreme Court but I wasn't worried for myself because New Jersey is a solidly blue state. I live in a very red county but the state overall is blue. I am happy for women in other states, though, who cannot legally get access to safe termination where they live. They can come to NJ to get the health care that they need/want. That is what I call being "pro-life".

Lots of states are working on getting own thing like this passed. California passed one for if you go there have an abortion your home state can not press legal charges against you.

Women's health care information should be private in all cases.

I don't like the term "health care" when murder is advocated. But at the same time the law is the law, and if that is what New Jersey wants to do and the voters agree with it ultimately, that's what the overturning of Roe v. Wade was all about. It was never about banning abortions. It was about returning the decision to the states.

@NJChicaa It is not. But we can agree to disagree on that. Health care is about SAVING lives. In fact, that is the tenet of the Hippocratic oath. Killing a baby does not save life. The point is that I think it is good that we are back to letting the PEOPLE decide what the law should be. That's what the overturning of Roe v. Wade does. Granted, the state legislature still makes the laws. But the VOTERS decide who gets to make them when they go to the polls.

@NJChicaa You keep on using false arguments. I have said time and time again...if the woman is pregnant due to rape or incest, or if the mother's life is in jeopardy, I am fine with abortion. If you are using it for birth control... You are a murderer.
