Mr H Beats the Heat

We are having a bit of a heat wave, right now. The temperature is in the low 80s, but forecast to climb as we go through the week and peaking this coming Monday. For Mr H, the garden cat, his house gets far too warm, but he has found the perfect spot to spend the afternoon. On top of the composting bin, shaded by the ivy. I keep the ivy cut back so he can snooze comfortably and he is doing his bit to help with the neighbourhood green initiative. He is so comfortable that he doesn’t bother with lunch, so I give him two breakfasts and he is happy until teatime.

Mr H would be fine in Manchester. The "heatwave" doesn't appear to have materialised for those of us in the Northern wastelands just yet.

@Ronrybs I don't think the serious heat is meant to be upon us (well the South East anyway) until the weekend. That might mean I'll be able to take my sweater off in Manchester. Best keep the umbrella handy though.

It is a composting bin, you put in garden cuttings and some food waste and over time it 'composts' into a kind of fertilizer to add to the garden

For the UK that is normally our upper limit, but the forecast for Monday and Tuesday was in the low 100s, but it looks like it is now going to be in the middle-high 90s. A bit warmer than average for us

Mr H, like all cats is well versed in getting comfy! He used to lay on the floor of his house, but the composting bin is much his style

He has many places. Next door has a chair by the kitchen door and he has taken it over, so much so, we call it Mr H's chair! It is in direct sunlight, so only for cooler days
