(Personal note to liner note readers: the David Palmer who co-wrote this song isn’t related to the David Palmer of Can’t Buy a Thrill fame.)
This was the lowest-charting of British band ABC’s five top 40 hits in the US (the biggest was “When Smokey Sings”). And, as usually happens, in the “oldies” department the “big hit” gets more airplay than the others.
I don’t know how popular this still is, but I know how popular it was 40 years ago. It’s still quite popular with me!

Excellent! I’ll bet that sounds completely different with an acoustic guitar accompaniment, like a country song (or acoustic punk, take your pick).
