Good morning to all of you. I've been sitting in the living room after my breakfast and a bottle of beer, my youngest son showed the spider to me currently staking in one of the shelves. It's already been 10:03am here before I decided to post my first discussion of the day. What do you think this kind of spider? I have no enough knowledge about spiders only knew that they have 8 legs but this one has only 7 legs. I don't know why and how that this spider has only 7 legs.

I don't know types of spiders in your country. I would guess that fellow or lady was attacked by something and it shed a leg to save its life. (Most types of spiders can shed a leg to give the predator something to keep their interest while the spider itself can escape.) In my opinion, spiders are fine outside where they belong and I won't bother them if they don't bother me. If they come inside the house, I kill them. That's my territory and I don't want spiders living with me.

I can't even kill them. I don't think they'll harm us.

@luisga814 Okay. I just don't take chances with spiders. Too many of them in the US are venomous and some can present a danger to human health.

@DaddyEvil I didn't know they did that. I thought only water creatures did that like a starfish.

It looks like a brown recluse. If so it’s poisonous. Be careful and get rid of it quickly.

The brown recluse usually has a thick stomach, but the one above does not.

That is a very huge spider. I think I will be scared to see that. But think for the positive way, at least it can catch the mosquitoes

But for it to catch mosquito and other insects, it has to build cobwebs that will trap those insects, and a lot of people don't like cobwebs hanging in their houses.

@akanetuk Perfect. As of now, I don't know where's the spider is? If the spider still on the house or already outside.

I would get a broom and knock the spider down and sweep it into a dust pan and threw it outside.

I would lose my mind if I saw a spider that big. I can't hardly even look at the picture of it. That is so weird that it only has 7 legs, maybe another spider ate one off.

@akanetuk There's a great many in Texas also. I'm just so glad that not many of them come inside.

I do not recognize it. Maybe something caught it by a leg and it lost it. So he has to make do with seven.

That is a huntsman spider, its a non web spinning specie similar to a tarantula. It's common in the Philippines, it feeds on cockroaches by pouncing on it's prey and sucking the life out of it. Don't worry it's not poisonous, it's harmless to us and helps keep pest population down. There are no known poisonous spiders in our country if I remember right.

@luisga814 if it's a huntsman then it has no venom, if it's brown recluse which is very very rare in our country then it has some kind of poison. It's difficult to tell from the picture.

It's one leg might have cut off. I dont think spiders are harmful or dangerous. Let it be there it will go away by itself.

In one of my former residences, there was a spider near the front door of the home which caused my relatives and myself some panic.
