Is Platonic love practical?

The internet giving access to lot of connections sometimes creates strange problems in our lives. Some connections take fascination by seeing your profile photo fall in love with you and say its true love and ask you to accept that platonic love. I haven't seen a person, haven't met him or know anything about the person; how is it possible to fall in love with such a person. In India we have arranged marriage but the boy and the girl are allowed to meet each other and talk to each other at least once or twice. So how can love get ignited without seeing each other or knowing each other.

Sometimes couples fall in love with each other after marriage. Mostly in the case of arranged marriages.

Yes, as I did, but my husband and me met at least once at our home and spoke to each other. I was 23 and he 35 and we could judge at least each other's attitude towards life.

Love is a continuous thing, especially when the relationship is flowing, without any problem.

I can tell you about my case. Before marriage, we met twice and talked to each other over the phone for less than time in 3 months when our marriage was fixed and happened, still we judged each other. I remember my wife was asked many times by my father-in-law if she agrees to marry me and she always said yes.

@akanetuk people who value wealth are fools as they should know that they marry a person, not money. They always face problems in their life.

You had at least met each other twice and spoke to each other on the phone. That gave you a chance to know each other to some extent.

Love sometimes is a gamble, but I strongly believe the spirit knows the person that is good for you. Sometimes we make the wrong choice because of money, wealth and so on.

It is not love but admiration which is one way of getting interest to know more about the person which will lead to love.

They say that love grows, friendship or mere admiration could be the starting point for love, which will blossom later to a perfect relationship.

From a distance it's not admiration but infatuation. You get infatuated by seeing someone's photo.

Yes not possible, but there has to be a begin point to know someone and that is establishing a communication, talking, then transmitting to meeting, and further interactions.

@aninditasen You must know a person before you love them.you might think them handsome and want their attention but not love them.

I think that is only a fascination learning a person online but the more you know the person, the more you want to see him or her in real life. I think love will develop through correspondence.

Yes, it is fascination and it may not turn into love. To love each other you have to meet each other to know each other.

It's because you would interact and be open about your true selves, perhaps? you may not see him/her physically but you know what runs in his/her mind. Who knows the real reason? Often we are braver to reveal our thoughts when we don't show our faces?
