So, for tonight's delicious meal I decided to make some pineapple, braised pork steaks. Seasoned up the "steaks" with some teriyaki sauce, garlic powder and the no-salt seasoning I get from The Dollar Tree that is actually pretty awesome. Browned the pork steaks in some oil, then added the juice from the pineapple and the pineapple chunks. Added some unsalted broth just to add to the liquid to make it a proper braise and will cook those for about an hour to make them fork tender, juicy and delicious. For sides the wife made some Serbian salad which is just chopped gree, red and yellow peppers with some cucumber and tomatoes seasoned with some vinegar and oil, garlic salt and pepper. As well we are making mashed potatoes with butter, milk, sour cream and other little added seasoning touches. Dinner should be good eats. What is going on your dinner table tonight? ***Image is mine. Not from tonight's dinner, but another previous braised pork dinner.

Your meal sounds delicious. I like pork with pineapple. Just made it a couple of days ago.

I had a baked potato with guacamole and tomato topping and some BBQ chicken. I’m full as a tick!

Guacamole on a potato sounds really good. I think I am going to get some and do that on the next round.

That´s a true Sunday dinner! I made rice while I was eating my lunch and I might turn it into a Chinese rice.

That looks real good I had simple, just a half sandwich on a roll and chips.

Sounds good. For lunch/dinner we went to Outback Steakhouse. We had Sydney 'Shrooms for an appetizer. Then I had Alice Springs Chicken, mashed potatoes, bread, Brussels sprouts and a strawberry salad. It was just OK.

@porwest The salad was the biggest disappointment. It was a Premium side salad...Cost $5. It had head lettuce, a few strawberries and some goat cheese. Longhorn Steakhouse's strawberry salad used premium lettuce, strawberries, Mandarin oranges, grapes and Feta cheese. It was SO GOOD.

Not a huge fan of corn bread, but I will take the rest. It has been a while since I have eaten ribs. Enjoy your ice cream.

@m_audrey6788 Pineapple slices, in fact, are commonly shown on hams, and hams are of course pork.

Pineapple in a savory dish? I don't mind it but some say no way. I was recently talking to a mylotter who felt that pineapple should not be in savory dishes. Or something like that.

@porwest I would never say no to pineapple in a savory dish. I guess there are people who just don't see pineapple being in a savory dish and they won't even try it.

@lovebuglena One of the most savory things I can think of is a ham and I always see hams portrayed in pictures with pineapple slices on them. lol Just trying to put this together in my head.

Sweet and savory tend to almost always go together, so that thought would surprise me a bit honestly.

@aninditasen Yeah. I am not a huge fan of Indian food personally. I do like curry a lot, though. But the seasoning. Not so much the heavy curry sauces.

Is it true that every product item is actually a dollar in The Dollar Tree?

Not anymore. They changed it to $1.25 a few months ago.
