There's been another tragic accident. I was power washing the fish cleaning table---Before I go on, I need to say that I don't fish. But this place is just about perfect for those who do. I'm less than a mile away from the river and two boat ramps leading into it and there are several small lakes very nearby that you can fish in---You can't use regular boat motors in most of them but they all allow electric motors. I also have plenty of room for boats and equipment---If you've never gone fishing, you wouldn't believe the number of expensive contraptions and gizmos you need to get properly bored, frustrated, mosquito bit and sunburned. I know some of you are saying, "That's very enlightening, Sir. Now, why don't you tell us how many thousands of dollars and countless hours you've poured into metal detecting to amass your impressive collection of nails, beer cans and shotgun shells, Sir." You are out of order. And you have a bad attitude. This is why you never win arguments. Now, where was I, before you so rudely interrupted me with that tidal wave of Inadmissible Losing Fake News Nonsense? Oh, yeah. All that is why I have a fish cleaning table. And while I was carefully and responsibly power washing it, something weirdly supernatural happened and suddenly the back of my right hand was bleeding because 800 layers of skin were ripped off it. My personal Physician, Dr. Morticia Strangelove, is in Vienna at a Mental Health Treatment Symposium. I don't know why. I'm not her only patient but I'm the only one that matters and no one is more mentally fit and less in need of psychiatric treatment than me. But whatever. The point is that Morticia was useless because she's in Austria. The good news is that her Assistant, Nurse Goodbody, is here and our combined Mad Medical Skillz---I'm a Gynecologist, not a Hand Doctor but I am really good with other body parts, anyway---solved the problem. So I'm recovering now. Taking all my medications---I prescribed myself internal applications of Bud Light for pain and inflammation management. You don't need a prescription for it here but the way today is going, I might end up in Kansas or Utah again by accident.

How did you manage to do so much damage to your hand?

I'd be willing to bet he reached out to steady the fish cleaning table or to pick up something from the table or floor and stuck his hand right into the high pressure spray from the hose, if I was forced to guess. (I did that once power washing our house and learned the hard way that a power washer and skin don't mix well.)

@RubyHawk It's easy to forget just how powerful the spray is from them. They feel like a regular water hose while in use.

@DaddyEvil I’ve never used a power washer but I’ve seen them in use. They are powerful. I wouldn’t dare get near the spray.

@DaddyEvil I never aimed anything anywhere. This whole thing happened very mysteriously with no input from me. Some people say it was Jewish Space Lasers.

@xander6464 I've heard of those... but will believe in them when one crashes in my front yard.

I hate having to deal with fish, especially preparing it to eat or cleaning up after prep/eating. You have to wear gloves for preparation and get any leftovers from prep/eating well away from your locality asap, and I don’t mean in the kitchen bin. In fact, fish is best eaten in a restaurant and leave it to those poor schmucks to deal with. I am sorry you’ve suffered from power-washing gone wrong. It was fortunate that Nurse Goodbody (and Bud Light) was on hand to sooth the pain. Take the rest of the week off.

I love eating fish but I divorce myself all phases of preparation that go into it. Taking the rest of the week off is the best idea I've heard today. I wish you were my Life Coach.

A power washer can cause a serious damage to our skin, but I am glad you found the right nurse to immediately take care of your problem. Is a bud light strong enough for pain and inflammation management? I would suggest something stronger.

@xander6464 This is true, stronger medications are fine if you plan to go to sleep soon after you take them.

@LadyDuck I love doing that but it isn't always practical.

Stronger medications are more effective but they have drawbacks. Bud Light is a nice compromise.

It was very painful but luckily I have the pain tolerance of 10,000 ordinary men. So it could have been worse.
