our internet speed before was only 5-10 mbps, I really did not want to make the switch from dsl to fibr since fibr wire is more delicate and it is much more expensive too, but they said they will no longer fix the dsl plan so we had no choice. I thought it would only be up to 50mbps but when I checked, we're getting 210 to 250 mbps. I'm scared about the internet bill now.

Yes, that was also my experience; they persuaded me to upgrade rather than have the DSL fixed. Instead of upgrading with them, I attempted Globe Fiber as a test of the other provider. 35Mbps is sufficient for me to browse the internet without experiencing any glitches or difficulties so far. I have recently heard concerns about PLDT's internet connection issues, therefore I decided to move to the other provider at this time.

@lady1993 Although it is a little cumbersome to have to apply again and provide the required info, the transfer was essential because our neighborhood has been complaining about their services, and somehow transferring prevented me from suffering the problem even with their fiber connection. After several months, I have not yet run into any issues. Even though there have been lags on occasion, they typically disappear by the end of the day.

Oh yes I am planning to change my internet to fiber, we can enjoy without any weather disturbances and with great speed. I check the price was not expensive than using mobile data since they offer me unlimited access.

@lady1993 I don't think it matters much when it's raining because the speed is still faster than a regular cable.

They say fiber cables are delicate though. No issues so far, but it does get a bit slower when it rains

I don't understand your circumstance.to my understanding, the faster internet speed is better, why you are scared?in our place,we pay for internet monthly,no matter how much net datas we consumed. the faster the speed is,the happier we are.But i hope they were not charging according to toal net datas consumed by you.

The price for internet here is quite high so I was content with out previous subscription since the speed was enough for me and my dad. I'll probably have to pay at least twice our previous subscription for this speed.

@lady1993 ,I see,are there other net speed options?for example,100mbps,or 80mbps.a suitable net speed with moderate price is better for you.

We're on FiBER PLDT too it costs 1,600 every month. It's pretty quick and smooth and there are 4 computers in the house plus several cellphones using it, but we're still going great. That's a good deal you got there.

@lady1993 We have unlimited Internet, the monthly bill does not change, it depends how is your subscription. If you use a phone and pay "per data usage" that is different.

Is the bill dependent on how much data you use? I don't think so. In my house it's prepaid and I can use as much data I want-in other words Unlimited.

Yea internet bill nowadays has been an essential to many homes and offices too. Hence incurring expenses on it is something you should expect. However, choose a reliable supplier who would charge fairly given this hard economic times

Our choices are pretty limited here. We've been with this provider for over 20 years.
