I had like Penelope Douglas' Bully book so I took a chance on her stand alone book, Misconduct. It was different. I had read other reviews and while they liked it, they had said that it was lacking...something in the ending. Easton Bradbury is an ex-teen tennis star. Her life literally crumbled around her but somehow she pulled herself up and at 23 years old is now teaching at an established school. Her methods are controversial but she believes in what she's doing. There is no way that she will make the same mistakes as she did when she was a kid. Tyler Marek had it all or so it seemed. While his family's fortune paid for his education, he built his company from the ground up with his own money. He was set to run for the senate. Everything he ever wanted is right there in his grasp. It only takes one moment in time to throw a wrench in every plan that you have ever made. When both Tyler and Easton are forced to attend a ball one Mardis Gras, one conversation was enough to throw that wrench in both their plans. It was six months later that it really started to show. Easton was Christian's teach. Christian is Tyler's son. It's a conflict of interest to be involved yet that's just what they become. It's like a magnet drew them together time and again. Neither wanted to want the other as much as they did but it was inevitable. They had to be discreet...until they just couldn't be anymore. Everyone has secrets though. Easton's may just be what keeps them apart... This book was different but it was good. I gave it a four star rating on Goodreads because I think that the end could have been better. The climax just a bit more dramatic. It was like you expected this great reveal and it amounted to like a poof. After the climax though the ending was really good and I liked it. It is a stand alone book and all the info you need to enjoy the book is right there. If you've read before let me know what you thought. Have you read any books by Penelope Douglas? *picture from google

I haven’t read her books or if I have I’ve forgotten. Sounds like an interesting book.

Penelope Douglas is different. I'm not sure I would put her in dark romance or not because I have read darker but she is good at enemies to lovers.

@JordanLader I went to the library today. I found a book by Joanne Fluke , C.J. Box, Donna Andrews and a couple of other authors I’m looking forward to reading.

I like good endings. They really make or break a book.

I like the journey but the end makes the journey satisfying :) in this case I like the ending but the climax was lacking.
