Clay soil!

I've learned only, really, this year that our soil was clay! Not that I have had any problems yet. But at the home hardware center in our hometown, told us to mix well the soil with another soil that will help the plants to thrive more in it. So we did that, our winter wheat and oat, and the rest of our garden is doing better, except the cucumbers seeds and cabbage plant that got eaten alive this year. The cucumber seeds never had a chance to germinate, the cabbage got full of holes to the point that we had nothing left off it. This year w have cucumber Beatles in the ground, and we have slugs, they say to put some beer into a lid on the ground and they will go drow in it, so something that next year has to be dealt with. Although this year, I succeed with Oats and wheat too. Hope you guys have fun with your garden this Summer. We need to get real good at it.

Oh! It is good! Your potatoes on the photo above, they look pretty good to me! You'll be fine for the winter months to come.

Are they red potatoes? I haven't seen them before.
