Just wanted to share this as I'm browsing some posts in my Facebook account, I've seen this. Triggering some issues against a neophyte senator who won as top 1 in the last National Election of the Philippines last May 9th, 2022.
The post was shared to compare with two personalities in joining the politics specifically in the Senate but they decided not to join. Unlike the last personality joined in persona of Senator Robin Padilla, a Christian turned into Muslim senator.
Here let me share to you during the time that Dolphy when he still alive, some of his followers asked him to join the politics and here's his answer: "If I'm going to enter politics, there's only one thing I'm afraid of, it's 'winning' because when I'm there I might be embarrassed because I don't know what I'm going to do. And it's a waste of people voting for me"
Then, few months before the recent election, Willie Revillame famous game show host in the Philippines said: "COC? The last day of filing is tomorrow. I can't enter into something that I don't have the ability to do. You should excel when you enter something. You can do good, you can do right...Goodness Is that all you have to do when you're in the Senate? You must know how to read the law. You must know how to make law."
Then the response of Robin Padilla's critics is this: "I'm just having a hard time! Can you take it easy? I just need to adjust. I'm really struggling with deep English. Especially the legal matters."
Wow. The comments of majority, why he joined the Senate if he's not ready for those legal matters written in English? And just to let you know, he will be handling as the chairman for Senate Committee on Constitutional Law Amendments. Such an odd. You don't know how to handle legal matters and you've pre-selected as the chairman of this Senate Committee.
What can I say about this?

It seems he would be more fit in other committees. But we really dont know. If you believe in Divine Providence some things happen for a reason.

@yoalldudes Yes, since he was voted by the Filipino, he should request for another Committee chairmanship and not that one. He wanted a Federal Constitutional Law that's why he requested to chaired that one.

I think he used his popularity as an actor which is why he won the hearts of the voters. But I guess he will need to attend to educating himself on how the system works. He might have his ideals but he needs to learn how to convince his fellow senators to push his ideas to them. It is just sad that we need more education on selecting the right person and not just base them on the popularity of the personality involve now he will have to have a crash course in his chosen career else we would waste time on his salary when you are with him.

@rsa101 yes indeed. Popularity makes him win. I hope that voters should study also on the right to vote. Voting for the right person.

@luisga814 I agree in terms of maturity on our electorate I think we are still very immature and would choose based on popularity than on his qualification for the position.

@Shavkat Honestly, if my memory is correct. He mentioned here before during the Pilipinas Got Talent that he's not aiming for any government position.

I'm not really sure what's going on, but it sounds as if they don't really want to run?

The two personalities, Dolphy and Willie don't want to run for public office. They just want to help people needs from their own expense.
