I asked if a lady that I'd substituted for if she had any employment openings coming up. She said she did, as she was planning on getting more children, and to send her my resumé with some references.
So, I've called/messaged around to see if there was anyone I had worked for/with who I could use as a reference. Everyone I asked--aside from one lady I couldn't get a hold of-- said I could, so I did.
Now my resumé is in her hands--on her email, in her phone, whatever--so I'll see what happens.

I never said I only used one reference. I just said I called one person at the time I posted this. When I sent it I had at least four.

I didn't just contact one person--just one person by the time I posted this. By the time I was done I had four references on my resume.

I hope you get more permanent work through this lady! It sounds very promising! And it's lovely that everyone you reached out to was willing to give you a reference. That speaks highly of you as a person and as a teacher!
