My Legs Are Almost Healed

My legs are healing fast. Yesterday, I walked five miles without leaving my apartment building. I did it in 11,243 steps. It has been five years since I could walk that far without pain. Once a vein specialist takes care of the vascular issue that causes my calves and ankles to swell, I will feel like a brand new woman. Taking care of that final issue with my legs will give me back my full mobility, and I wish some reading this could experience newfound mobility, too.

This is wonderful to read. I’m glad that everything went well for you and the surgery. Congratulations and continued stepping!

Thank you. I have about seventy more pounds to lose. The more I walk, the sooner the weight falls off and I get back into shape.

@SonjaRae, you got that right! I have walked 30,552 steps so far this week. I don’t think I have walked this much since 2017.

Thank you. I cannot wait to walk into my orthopedist's office in February. By then, I will weigh over 100-LBs less than I did this time last year (when I first walked into his office).

@Chellezhere It must be a strange feeling now that you can move so much better with no pain.

@LadyDuck Yes, it is, but it is a good strange. This morning, I realized I can walk at my old power walking pace again. I won’t push it, though, but it's nice to know I can get in out of storms faster.

Thank you. I only wish I could, but artificial knees are to lessen the pain. Running marathons can damage the appliance.
