Crap. I Am Not Fully Recharged!

Even after a week long vacation in sunny Florida, I am not feeling it. I am not feeling recharged. It is Sunday and I am dreading going back to the office. Not that I dislike my job. Not that I work particularly hard, physically anyway. I'm just tired of working, and that's nothing new. I have been saying that quite a lot lately and even more frequently now. That is not to say I am pulling the plug or anything. I am sticking to the plan I laid out in an earlier post. It is simply to acknowledge that the writing is on the wall and I will have to pull it together as best I can for the time being and continue to ramp up my efforts toward the goal. But gosh, I really wish I did not feel this way.

@porwest If you benefit more from retiring at a later age better to wait.

@lovebuglena It's just that I make really good money and so does the wife, so we might as well just make more and add to the bottom line.

You’re like an electric vehicle. Hope you can get back in the swing of things and enjoy work. Of course, a three-day weekend is coming soon and that’ll throw you for a loop, too.

@porwest — that’s interfering with my travel plans, too. I don’t like to be out on a three-day weekend. Too crowded and prices are higher.

Oh yeah. I forgot about that. Yeah. Labor Day. I will look forward to that.

@FourWalls I agree. Holidays are overrated. I like "off" days to travel much better.

Maybe retirement might come a little sooner?

@porwest I had planned to work for 30 years before retiring, but the final straw was when I had to take a nap after work before I could cook supper. After I ran some numbers, I saw I could retire then with only a very few dollars less. I gave them 30 days notice and I was out of there.

@1creekgirl There comes a time when a few bucks just isn't worth waiting for. Glad you were able to do it.

It just might. I have to force myself each day not to pull the plug before I walk out the door. lol

Wouldn’t it be great if we always felt up beat and happy in every situation? But that ain’t life and we have to deal with it.

Would a different job help? A change of scenery? I know how you feel; but you have to keep plugging along. Count down those days. That always helped me.

A different job COULD help. But I'd likely not make as much money as they are paying me to do what I do. It is very hard to walk away from that kind of money.

Getting tired of your job? Planning to retire? Go ahead for your body needs it. Though the spirit is willing but the body is not. By the way, are you retirable?

Yeah. I can do it if I want to. But they pay me a crap ton of money. It's hard to walk away from that. lol

I think I actually started to acknowledge it about three years ago...I was maybe hoping the feeling would pass. lol

Slow but sure. Once you get back to work you get settled back in...until next Sunday when the whole process repeats. lol

I didn't know that one was allowed to use swear words on myLot.

Crap, in no place ever, has been considered a swear word to my recollection. I would not encourage a child to use it. But it is no different than say, damn or hell really. It's extremely low on the totem pole of foul language. Akin to gosh darn or shizzle sticks. lol

In my case it is usually dealing with the heat outside which weakens me.

Really hot days are a bit of a bear for me too. BUT, I still prefer hot days over any cold day during the winter. I can't stand winter at all.
