Pork tenderloin and chocolate pie

Our son Robert is playing golf with Dale this morning, then coming over for lunch/dinner afterwards. I've got a homemade chocolate pie baking and I'll get the pork tenderloin ready in a little while to go in the oven. Make mashed potatoes after that and at the last minute, I'll fry some cornbread. I plan to fry some okra... sure hate to see the fresh veggies come to an end. There was so much okra, I've been sharing with neighbors and gave away most of it yesterday. But now I've got to pick the garden to have enough okra for dinner today. We still have a few tomatoes in the fridge, but the sweet potatoes are still growing. First time planting them, so I hope they do as well as the red potatoes did. Guess I'll do my "crab scoot" when we get ready to dig them, lol. Hoping my antibiotics will get rid of this UTI soon and maybe the IBS will settle down too. I'm just full of initials. Robert doesn't get to come eat with us very often, so I always want to cook lots of good stuff. I wish Nathan could come over, too, but he's busy getting ready to move into his dorm on Friday. Hope you all are having a blessed Wednesday!

Sounds like a delicious dinner you have planned. Your garden did well this year and I love red potatoes (well I love all potatoes) but I've never tried to grow my own. Hope the antibiotics help

@1creekgirl I got some tomatoes from my neighbors garden and they were delicious. How many things do you have planted in your garden?

Thanks, I'm hoping the antibiotics will help soon. I feel like I'm falling apart, but still have much to thank God for.

Uhm... I'm not understanding something... You always want to cook good stuff when Robert comes to visit and in the same discussion you talk about okra ... To me, that isn't "good stuff". I hope the visit with your son goes well. I hope you all enjoy your day.

Oh, DE, you've never had my fried okra. We did enjoy the dinner and visit, but with this UTI and IBS, I was ready for a nap right afterwards.

@1creekgirl I'm sure. When you don't feel good, any exertion means a nap right afterward. I'm glad you enjoyed your time with him. Everybody says they make "good" okra. I'm here to tell you there is no such thing as "good okra". Mom always tried to force us kids to eat it until I threw up on the dinner table and dad told her not to make us eat anything we didn't want again. (Mom always said, "take one bite, you might like it THIS time." But we never did and never will.)

My husband does the planting and weeding, but I know not to plant it too soon in the spring and not so close together. It keeps bearing til frost. Nice to meet you, too!

@1creekgirl That would be so nice. Just tired today. So much aggravation yesterday, and now fatigue. But the headaches are not too bad. Thanks for asking.
