Oh man school starts at the end of next week! For real where I’m at. We did the registration for the kids school like always it’s just to verify they have the correct location for where you live and if your kid is a bus, walked or car rider. My boys are of course walkers because the school is right next to our house. My daughter going into middle school was supposed to have a bus. Well she ain’t we are in the walk zone. Which changes everything. Today we walked her to the school and back gave her talk about what she should and shouldn’t do. Yes I told her I’d someone is bleeding don’t you dare stop and help. You keep going to school and you tell the police office there or the office. You never know when someone is faking and she is only a 11 and might be at times alone walking. We did tell her I’d someone is following or ask you something you don’t talk back just keep going saying sorry I need to get school. Once you get to school you tell the officer or the front office before heading to class.

How long is the walk from home to your daughter's school?

We walked it today and it took roughly 20 minutes, then again that was with 2 other kids tagging along. So this is 20-25 minutes tops it could take her less then that like 15 minutes if she isn’t distracted and walks a good speed. We plan on getting her a bike which will help cut the time down and school starts at 8:50am so she’ll have to leave the house no later then 8:10am after her brothers get to school. We can driver but I don’t want her getting use to that for when her dad goes back to work. On bad weather days I’ll try to make sure she has ride to school instead.

@ShyBear88 l hope she gets someone to walk with. Of course if the area is safe it should not be a problem.

@Kandae11 no area is a 100% safe ever it’s impossible. Yes it’s much better with someone then solo. As a middle school walker myself I never did the mornings but always walked afternoons because more kids walked especially when it’s warm. The first day I think we will walk half of it with her so she can see it’ll be alright it also claim my mommy heart that she is okay.
