The allergy to cold is called urticaria. This allergy is very rare and it can be very dangerous. It can also be life threatening. You can manage it by doing things to prevent it to begin with. You have to avoid being anywhere where it is cold. Do not even open your freezer for a long time. You will get very cold from that. If you get cold you will have hives all over you and itch really bad. You have to avoid being outside when it is cold out there. Do not swim or bath in cold water. Do not use air conditioning.

Hmm I never thought that anyone would get allergy from just being in a cold place. Since I live in a tropical place I think I would never experience that. Cold days in my place happen only in a few months of the year. I do have allergies when there is transition of weather from Hot and humid to rainy season and vice versa. I just do not know if that is the same as urticaria.

If you take an allergy pill and you are ok than it is not the same as urticaria.

Urticaria? Are you sure, urticaria is a skin rash triggered by a reaction to food, medicine or other irritants. Well the cold could also create a skin rash.

People with that allergy cannot live in North America or other cold countries. But as you mentioned it is a very rare allergy.

My auntie had it while we were swimming in a cold river. But it disappeared after hours from swimming.

Intersting. Would wrapping up comfortably and suitably protect the sufferers from the allergy or sensitivity to the cold temperature?

When my skin is blown by the cold wind, my skin will be allergic and itchy. The living environment should be kept dry. My skin doesn't like moisture. I will pay special attention to adding and reducing clothes.

I just wonder how people with such a rare allergy survive in winter. Probably have to stay home with the heat on 24 hours.
