Yesterday I wanted to make the steamed buns. I put everything inside the stand mixer and soon the dough was available. I cut it into 8 pieces and cover a cloth and let it raise. Then later I realized I forgot to add the yeast and the buns might never raise There was no other way and then I rolled it and cut it like noodles So finally yesterday we had noodles instead This is a perfect fix.

Good idea! In the past I have made baked goods with the yeast not properly rising . . . I continued to bake them but of course they were rather small and dense. It was just better to feed it to the trash can .

I would have added a few tablespoons of warm, but not hot, water and added the yeast then mixed the dough again and left the dough to rise.

I am afraid the result won't go well and it will be a bigger waste for me

@youless Oh, I see... As long as you were able to use the dough, then no waste at all.

I would have added a bit of flour, some warm water and the yeas and kneaded again.

That was very wise of you. I’ve had many problems using yeast. When I have, I had no choice but to throw away what I had made. Such a waste of time, food, and effort.

Usually if you let the dough to rise for enough time, then your bread won't go wrong

I remember your mom's buns and I know she will never make such a mistake

@zhangxueying I suggest you to buy a stand mixer for your mom in her birthday or Mother's Day. It will work efficiently

@youless At present, I haven't heard my mother say anything about forgetting yeast. It's estimated that it hasn't happened. We don't have a blender, and all of them are made by hand.

I will bake the potatoes but if I boil them in advance, the baking time will be shortened.

@youless My problem really is that I place them in the pot, start mylotting and forget about them.
