My Hero!!

I was ready to get in the shower last night, but noped right out of there. There was a HUGE grass spider in the tub. If you had set him on a fifty cent piece his legs would have gone from side to side.
I do not like to kill them, so I left. Went to bed.
I worked both jobs today and hubby was not with me. He said he was making me a surprise.
I asked him pretty please to do a couple of things.
1. Make sure that spider was not in MY tub.
2. Please water my dry and wilted herbs outside, so I would not have to when I got home.
Both those items were taken care of.
It is September, and the thought of fall foods is on our minds.
Hubby made a dish called Janssonen's Temptation (Janssons Frestelse)from his Scandinavian cookbook.
People are amazed or amused when they learn that it has anchovies in it. It also has onions and shredded potatoes and heavy cream.
We must have been really hungry, because we ate the whole thing. Someone brought lovely home grown tomatoes to school, so I brought one home and it was a beautiful side.
So for tonight hubby is indeed my hero!!

The food sounds delicious. People do not realize that often anchovies are in foods and sauces and they have no idea.
I was looking at facebook earlier for a bit. So, so many people are screeching about spiders right now. They supposedly know when summer is ending, and they want INSIDE really bad! One way I keep spiders and flies from coming in when we open the door to go out is once or twice a week, I hike outside, shut the door, and spray a layer of that nasty horrible wasp spray that shoots out like a cannon, all around the peremiter of the doorway. I do the garage door all away around the edges. Bugs hate it and they don't come in. If we get a rain, the next day I spray again. It really helps. And, the spray isn't inside to hurt us.

I sprayed out the kitchen screen to keep the flies away. I have poisons that will kill them but prefer not to I want the spiders to stay outside and eat mosquitoes and other things.

He is a true hero. My granddaughter had to be my hero once. I had kept one eye open all night to make sure that the darned thing didn't move. Thank goodness she came when she did and saved me.

My younger sister scared herself once. She saw a spider on her ceiling fan and panicked. She flipped it to '"high" and the spider flew away. She kept her eyes open for it that way just like you.

This morning I was sure we would get rain, but the clouds drifted on away. We are continuing with heat.

@GardenGerty They announced heavy rain for the night and I have not seen a drop of water. May be today or tomorrow. Rain loves to spoil the weekends.

@GardenGerty I don’t see many spiders but when i do I pick them up with a paper towel and sit them outside If I see a fly I crush it. Doesn’t seem fair to the fly.

I tolerate the littler black ones really well. They remind me of stuffed toys. I have had wolf spiders chase me outside. I just did not want this big ole spider in my shower. Bob gently took it outside. That is what I would have done but I am at a very tired stage of being, and could not do it.

This was an acquired taste for me, but we have made it a few times in the twenty-four years we have been married.

I did not want to kill him. I also did not want to share my shower. Anchovies are supposed to be very healthy.

What a coincidence. I have eaten fermented anchovies with my salad this evening.
