Listen to the Rich

Without a doubt, Dave Ramsey is a very wealthy and very successful guy. Taking financial advice from a guy like him is a very worthy thing to do. He knows a thing or two about money and he is willing to share. And for anyone wanting to have money, they should be all ears. The thing is this; many people who have money like to share what they know about money. It's not to brag. It's not to throw it in anyone's face. It's to share the wealth. No, no. Not mine. Not his. Not theirs, the wealth of the rich. Not to share it monetarily, but to share the information that they know which is what got them to be rich. Because the rich know that while it is hard to get rich, it's also damn easy to get rich. You just need to know how. And guess what? Rich people want everyone to be able to get there too. Because being rich is freeing. It's life changing. And let's be frank, it's a hell of a lot of fun. On top of that, the more money everyone has the more everyone makes. The better everyone's opportunities become. The poor get richer and the middle class get richer, and yes...the rich get richer too. We all get richer. But there is something he said he does and did that has helped to guide his way to the top of the money food chain. It's part of what he shares, in fact. He studies them. The rich. He studies them. As he put it, he studied millionaires before he was one himself because he wanted to be a millionaire too. And when he became a millionaire, he studied deca millionaires because he wanted to have tens of millions too. And when he became a deca millionaire he now studies billionaires, because with a portfolio worth roughly $800-$900 million, he's on his way to and wants to be a billionaire too. The bottom line is that when someone who has money shares what he knows about money, don't poke your fingers into your ears. Perk your ears up and make them wide open. They are offering to you something of extreme value, and they are not charging you a dime for it. Dave Ramsey offers his advice to people because it gives him great joy to see people happy and free and making more money for themselves and living a better life financially. Many rich people do this for the same reason. Don't take it for granted. Take it for what is worth...and then follow the principles and get ahead. It's that simple.

Yes, having money is freeing. My husband and I now have some, and we're smart with it.

Nothing like having the peace of mind knowing that everything could fall apart tomorrow and we could still afford it. lol

@porwest I know what you mean. We started from the ground up, and haven't changed our mindset. And, let's face it, inflation is out of control, and things are already falling apart.

@kaylachan Better to come to a fire with a water bucket than a can of gasoline. Stupid analogy, but I could not come up with anything better. lol

Life is what we make it, including our financial position in life. Especially in the United States, not having money is a choice. Not a matter of circumstance.

@RasmaSandra I have said many times I don't buy this. If I sat down with anyone in any situation I could always find money. Always. I never want to discount anyone's situation. But I know far too much about money and how it works to ever accept this. I have had several periods in my life where I was even unemployed... And still saved and invested money. So I simply don't buy it.

I have followed a lot of Dave’s advice. Not all of it, but a good majority of what he has shared, and it has served me well.

I find he can be a bit extreme at times, but even he admits that. But lots of good fodder for anyone wanting to know about what to do and what to avoid in order to achieve wealth, or at least just have more money.

That is true since I remember the author of the book "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" who is Robert Kiyosaki saying that his greatest feeling he has is to give back to his readers the secrets of making money by investing.

Anyone who says money can't buy you happiness hasn't really, truly given it much thought.
