Got my first check

I got my first check at my new job and managed to spend the entire thing in 17 minutes. Got rid of all of the disconnect notices we had and got rent paid and some set aside for gas. Got 3 credit cards paid on and also got new car insurance. And then it was gone. My next check is paying October rent way early and bumping my liability car insurance to full coverage insurance and paying on my other 2 credit cards. My last check of the month will be funding our roadtrip we're going on at the end of the month. I wanted to make sure to pay rent early so that if we had an expense come up I didn't have to use rent money to pay for it.

I imagine you felt proud that you could clear up all those bills. Total relief for you.

Very relieved. I have the next 3 checks spent also playing catch up. My next paycheck is paying Oct rent and a few bills. The one after that will go to our road trip. Then back to paying bills until I'm caught up.

@fatragu I remember when my husband started getting a decent pay check. A friend had lent us a large amount of money years earlier. Such a wonderful feeling when we were able to finally pay him back. Kudos to you.

Took less time to spend than making it.

Absolutley. It had about 70 hours on it.

Yikes. Normally I would poo-poo this sort of thing. But obviously you had some catching up to do.
