You've GOT to be Kidding Me!

Vice President Kamala Harris tells the American people in two separate interviews that "the border is secure," despite illegal immigrant numbers reaching 2 million as they pour into the country with border officials essentially saying, "there are too many coming across to stop them." Border officials have also boldly stated that there has been little if any assistance or guidance from the White House, nor the supposed border czar, Kamala Harris. Even the liberal media has had a difficult time spinning this claim, because you just can't spin something like this that is as obvious as this is. The border is nowhere near secure. This would be akin to a man standing in front of a building with billowing clouds of smoke rolling out of windows, bodies jumping and crashing all around him on the ground as people escape the flames, with not a single firetruck in sight and one man rushing to the scene with a garden hose claiming... "We have this situation completely under control."

Heaven help us if Kamala Harris would be the first female President of the United States since her elevator does not travel to all floors of the Empire State Building.

@porwest I am hoping that will never happen in our lifetimes that Kamala would be our President of our nation.

@porwest I know what you mean since Kamala has been known for doing anything that she can to be the leader of the free world any which way she can.

It is funny to me that "lies" are the constant accusation when it came to Trump—and I will be fair, he WAS an embellisher, but I would not say an outright liar. But the stuff coming out of the Biden administration is PATENTLY lies, direct, outright, and done literally on purpose, and left never sees fit to call it out for what it is. I mean, even Biden telling the American people about a "robust economic recovery" with rampant inflation, labor shortages and a looming recession. You just can't make this stuff up.

@CarolDM I almost feel like I HAVE to listen to it. How else can I be informed? When it comes to politics, I want to have a reason for my dissent. Unlike the left. I want to know WHY I disagree and THINK about why I disagree. I want to be able to dissect it and KNOW why I oppose something. I do not want to become the left and turn my brain off and allow the country to go to hell for reasons I don't have the ability to understand, comprehend, or defend rationally. The only savior of the country is a thinking, working brain which we use to cast a proper and responsible vote. For the right reasons. Having considered all of the facts and connotations. Having deeply delved into what is, and what is not best for the country and why, and having a deep understanding of it. And more than anything, being able to explain our positions intelligently BECAUSE we have listened to both sides and carefully evaluated and weighed the information. The one GREATEST benefit to being American is that we DO have a say. We need not take that for granted, close our ears and eyes, and simply hope for the best. If we do that, we will only serve to eventually destroy ourselves from within.

There is nothing to see here; please move along. They want us to think that there isn't any issues at the border, because the majority of Americans will never personally see for themselves what is actually taking place there. At least that is their hope. But Americans aren't as stupid as they think.

It HAS been interesting, as some of these illegals are now being bussed around to other parts of the country, that people are beginning to complain. Goes hand in hand with what we have always said about certain people, "It's fine until it is in my own back yard."

@porwest I saw that DeSantis just flew a bunch of illegal immigrants up to Martha’s Vineyard and dumped them there.

Don't be an idiot, and I mean that endearingly. These are GOVERNMENT REPORTED NUMBERS. I get irritated when people dismiss the facts with idiocy and am not unwilling to call it out. We have a problem on the border. Period. And we did not have this problem when Trump was in office. We didn't even have this problem when OBAMA was in office. So, let's just stick to facts here. Shall we? We solve nothing when we make things up and deny the truth. Anyone can hate Trump. That's fine. But when we start making up reasons to hate someone and deny real things happening to real people? That's a problem too. People are DYING on the border. Lives are being lost. Children and women are being raped and extorted. Border patrol agents with wives and kids are being put into unnecessary danger by horrible cartels that traffic human beings. And the White House is not only complicit. They are RESPONSIBLE. And the only duty the American people have is to hold them to due account for it.

This would a problem of population explosion if not controlled. Should the government build a wall just like Berlin wall?

@Nakitakona No country I can think of allows people to simply enter their country. Not a single one. So regardless of the comparison, the fact that the United States has an "open border" is not only ridiculous...it is extremely rare.

The Berlin wall was built for reasons VERY unlike why we might build ours. With the Berlin wall it was communism vs. freedom. EXTREMELY different things.

I sure hope they come to some kind of decision and what I would like to know is why their own country cannot figure out how to help them so they don't have to leave.

There is a LOT of corruption in Mexico. But that is in part because their economy is pretty screwed up and there is just too much incentive for bad people to do bad things. But, and many people might be surprised by my stance, I think America could do more to invest in Mexico in similar ways such as we have invested in Canada. One wonders why a country north of us fares so much better than a country south of us? If America invested more in Mexico, and worked harder to improve relations between our countries, and found productive ways to make Mexico a more prosperous country, maybe we would not have this problem. Whenever I have traveled to Mexico I can't believe the levels of poverty and the lack of opportunities for their people, and often think that much opportunity is not realized by either side. For whatever reason. If we built a joint coalition with Mexico similar to what we have built with Canada, over time, I can only imagine that Mexico might be a totally different country and our relations would be entirely improved. Think about it. When I am on the highway I ALWAYS see Canadian license plates. When is the last time you saw a Mexican one? And why CAN'T we be partners? We are neighbors. And why is a country to the south of THE most prosperous country in the world so poor? I think America can do more to help work better with Mexico to make it better. Beyond that, let's be real here. Mexico is a MUCH more beautiful country than Canada is, and if I or anyone could drive through Mexico like we can drive through Canada, and vice versa? Can you imagine what an amazing place we would have in the Americas as a whole, from Mexico to Canada? If I could drive to Mexico City as easily as I could drive to Ottawa? What a different world we would live in. In Mexico we have to put the cartels out of business in the same way we put the mob out of business in the U.S.

To be honest, I really don't know what to make of her. I mean, she's always cackling at weird things, her mannerisms and demeanor are off, and she really never seems to know what she is saying and certainly not what she is doing. She is CLEARLY a token vice president that was picked for reasons other than her qualifications.

They can gaslight all they want. The official records of the Department of Homeland Security, which is the source of these numbers, which is under the direction of the Biden administration, are the truth. People can deny their own realities all they want and call my reality into question all they want, but it does not change the reality itself. We have a problem on the border, and the border situation has never has been as bad as under Biden as record numbers of illegals cross and record numbers die.
