I convinced Bob to go to walk in hours at the local clinic. I told the office and my lead teacher I would be "late". Hah!
With Walk in or urgent care you get who you get for a doctor.
Bob saw the nice doctor that diagnosed his bone infection.
Dr. Weir ordered some tests, and IV fluids and anti nausea medicine in the IV. All of that helped. After coming back after lunch to get an x ray, one of the nurses caught us and said Dr. Weir wanted Bob directly admitted because he has a very high White Blood Cell count and his kidney function is extremely bad.
We still do not know what we are treating. Doc says it is not likely to be food poisoning as Bob had a fever a couple of times and usually food poisoning hits really quickly and then goes away. Bob has continued to get worse.
So that is the current status. I am finally home. Bob is sleeping at the hospital.
I will keep you posted.

I'm sorry that he is back in the hospital.
I feel for both of you.
I felt a swollen ankle last night and woke this morning with the foot twice the size it should be.
I am going to an urgent care center in a little while.
My appointment is at 7:40 and they close at 8pm, so I hope that I will be seen, but I am not holding my breath.
Tomorrow is another day.

@GardenGerty No, there is no sign of a bite.
The flare up has decreased but has shown signs of attempting to come back again.
I feel like there is an infection inside of me that is settling there.

I am so sorry he is sick, Heather. I hope you get answers soon. It does sound as if the urgent care Dr. was on the ball.

He had two serious infections, and the one seems to be doing much better. He still has a week of treatment on the other.

Well we got our diagnosis and now are working on improving his health. I still feel like he picked it up in the infectious disease clinic.

@GardenGerty It is not impossible that he picked it up in the infectious disease clinic, that would mean that the clinic does not have a good hygiene, terrible!

I'm glad you got to see the "nice" doctor but not so glad to know that Bob is back in the hospital.

I think we are lucky to have the doctors we have in our little community. Bob has gotten steadily better since he has been home.

@GardenGerty that is so lucky I hope he sticks around. Too often a great doctor comes around here then leaves the practice too soon

He was admitted on Monday, released on Thursday and it took him the better part of another week to show real improvement.
